Soft coral sensitivities

What are softies most sensitive to?

Chemicals, heat, exposure to air, etc??

I have a mass of Xenia and other softies that I need removed but want to keep the sponges and sps on the same rock. Any ideas on a dip or treatment that preferentially targets softies?

Cut them off and glue/epoxy them to kill them off.
