Red and Green LEDs necessary?
Do you know if it is strictly necessary to run the green and red leds on my black box lamp?
My particular lamp (Coral box moon led) has 6 color channels, but the green led has stopped working. I was wondering if the green and red are important to corals? Or if i can turn them off without any ill effects? Thanks! |

The red and greens are really there to help with whiter look. Some of the best sps tanks use only white and blue t5's.

I’ve turned off red and green spectrum on my Hydra HD LEDs since day 1, 18 months ago.
