testing and readings

I am very new at reef so may be a stupid quastion but waht to test for, what test kits and what are good readings for my corals to be hethy?

It really depends on what sort of coral you want to keep, some have MUCH higher demands than others. Soft coral (beginner coral)will really not care about anything other than the basic salinity, nitrate, phosphate, ph, and alkalinity tests. The next most common tests are probably calcium and magnesium. There are TONS of other thing you can test for if you want to keep more exotic coral and you can even send your water out to a lab for huge report.
