Skimmer tuning Q

So with all my old school AC pump skimmers in the past, I basically left the air inlet fully open and adjusted the ball valve to control the internal water height for operational function.
My Q is with the newer DC motor skimmers specifically a Skimz.
Initial break in, I had the DC motor on the lowest setting, the gate valve for the water height fully open and the air inlet silencer screw mostly closed.
By day 2, I was able to open the air inlet fully open.

What should be the next adjustment, increasing the DC motor flow or closing the gate valve slightly?

TIA
