How do you photograph under actinics?

I'm just using my iphone to take pictures, but under actinics, you can't even see what's inside the tank.

If you're using a dslr, is there a specific setting or filter you guys use?

You have to set your white balance manually or use a orange or yellow gel filter

At the moment, this seems to be the best smart phone filter out there.

with most dslr you can set custom white balance. Put a white object in tank and take a picture of it. In white balance settings select custom and it will have you select a photo. Use the photo taken of white object. This should help. Make sure the photo takes up the whole viewfinder. You should only see white. You may need to turn off Auto Focus feature.

I have a Cannon 20D. I don't have a macro lense so my phone produces better picture than this camera :-)
