Best Transport Strategy
Please newbie needs help
I need advice from the experts. I am moving a Saltwater reef ready tank with fish and coral. I am driving them in my van, a 12 hour trip. What packing strategy should I use to ensure the highest survival rate? I planned on double bagging, adding a few drops of Amquel and using only room air. Is that adequate for that length of trip? Do I need heat packs? Do I need to add oxygen? Could I just open the bag and hit each bag with a battery powered air pump? How long? Thanks |

I would do what TBS does, put all the rock into a thick plastic bag and then add about half full of water. Quintupple bag it and stick it in a box with a styrafoam lining. If you expect it to be cold out and the back of the truck isnt heated, you could put a heating pad in each bag, but I doubt it would be necessary.
