Flow restrictor length?

Hi, I just replaced my 3 stage 60 GPH unit. I read through the manual and saw that I am supposed to cut the flow restrictor to size, I never did this on my old unit, but it seemed to work fine for over 3 years. Anyway I keep my RO unit outside, and the temp here in Louisiana can swing quite a bit, if I cut the restrictor now, will it matter when the temp drops?

I just tested the product flow rate and it came out to 187.5 ml/min, so I guess I dont need to cut it, right? Also I tested the TDS after the unit ran for about 30 min. and it was 27, thats higher than my 3+ year old unit, do I need to let it run longer or what?
