Purity Monitor bad?
I have a 3 year old Spectrapure2000 with the purity monitor. I had been using it and a portable Milwalkee TDS monitor to check my system's water. I had the PM set with dip switch #8 as ON (instead of dip #7) for the more sensitive setting to catch problems earlier. Last week, I noticed that the PM test became red instead of green. The sudden change starting at dip#8 remains red even for dips #7 and #6. The green led is lit when dips #5 and lower are used. However, the milwalkee TDS meter continues to give zero readings for the DI output and reads 2-3 for the RO water. I had changed DI cartridge about 6 month (~900 gallons) ago. The problem still exist after I had changed the battery on the PM as well as the plug-in sensor head. I did notice that the PM lights the green led when no sensor is plugged in. Do I have a real water problem, or a Purity monitor problem.
Thanks, Howard |
