where to buy live squid?
I'm looking to buy live squid (longfin squid or atlantic giant squid). My wife does spinal cord research and she needs live squid to test out some new drug. Up to now, she has been using preserved ones from a laboratory supply catalog but she says she needs to use live ones to make sure it works. I guess the squid's nerves are very similar to the human spinal cord.
She plans to put them in a 580g lobster tank which has kept jellyfish and cuddlefish in the past. Anyone know where she can get some???? I tried the local LFS but no one has a clue. Thanks ya' all!

If your wife is associated with a university or research institute, she might try the NRCC in Galveston, Texas.

I work for Carolina Biological Supply. If your wife wants to send me a PM I can check with our collectors on the coast. I'll need an idea of how many, what size, how often.
