yes have cared for 12 of them one of them ate but then later died just like the others.

Sadly they never live longer than a few months. As a result they are best kept in the ocean. And yes, I've killed my share

It depends on which type you are talking about. I am guessing that you mean the blue spotted ribbon tail. There is another called just the blue spotted (Dasyatis kuhlii) which is very hardy but not commonly found.
