Help with upgrading JBJ

I just got a JBJ Nano 12g. I wanted to replace the pump so I just bought a Mini Jet 606 which people said would be good for this sized tank. I don't no how to get the power cord from the old pump out. It runs through the top of the hood. Shoould I cut it or is there some way of pulling it out without snaping anything

Thanks in Advance

~Andrew

This is a picture of what im talking about the cord goes through the top. Do i cut a little hole. I see the hole on the right i could run it through tehre but i still wanna get the other cord out of the chamber.
Alright the picture isnt working. I cant load it oto this site. Its over 50kb. I have tried about 100 times to makwe it smaller and smaller and by the size it will work you cant see it but if you have one plase help

It sounds like you need to take the hood off. I have a 12g non-deluxe i got it used a while back.To take the hood off lay it flat and slide from the back of the tank to the front of the tank. You have to pull kind of hard put it will pop off. Then you can run your new cord threw the old hole.

I don't think you even need to remove the hood. Simply pull the pump from the elbow joint and the cord is free-moving. That's how I did mine. The cord is only attached to the pump.
