WTB or Possibly Trade for.....
I'm looking for a 90G 48" RR tank & Stand. New or Used.
I can trade partial or full depending on your interests in what I have. I have several Brand New desktop Computers complete & a very nice Toshiba Laptop with 15" screen also new available for trade. The laptop works perfectly but has a diagonal line running through the screen when on/ Looks like a crack but not visable when off. Still able to see everything on the screen. I have a nice Athlon 64 3200+ PC with 512MB Ram, 100GB HDD, Dual Layer DVD/RW and other desktop systems too. All New! Let's make a deal. Tell me what you have and what you want for it. Some cash available if only interested in partial trades. Keri Last edited by ReefNeck; 03/06/2006 at 08:57 AM. |

Pending Deal on New RR 75G and Stand.
Am also considering a 75G since it will still give me more depth front to back which is what I need and I can still use my lights. Had an offer on a 144G Custom Glass tank, Stand & Canopy. Was one heck of a deal for me. Tank was 1/2" glass. Have to pass on it as I am 99% sure it will go through the floor on my 22 year old mobile home. That would not be good for anyone. Nice tank though and if anyone is interested in one that large and heavy, PM me and I'll put you in touch with the person that has it.

I have a 210gal in my 20 year old manufactured home. (I know it's stell a mobile home.) I made the stand, the tank is 6' long the stand 11' long to spread the load out over more floor joist. I don't know if you can do it like that. steve

I know Steve, and his tank, and It looks great, and it is all glass. He doesn't have any support problems. I live in a stilt home, and I have a 225 gal. It doesn't take much to add a little extra support under the tank area. Ted

I already have floor problems....I went through the floor in our master bathroom (One Foot) and can't fix it myself or afford to get it done. Hope to find a kind hearted soul one day that can help out and will work for beer or frags. ![]() My Father in Law will be here in about 2 weeks and he is a master carpenter. If he feels up to it am going to try and get him to help us with the bathroom floor. Back to the point though, I don't trust this floor much anyway and feel I am pushing it with the 55G and the 29G in the same room. Will have a much better stand on whatever I find to trade for that will spread the load out more. Thanks Keri |

You should be fine in your mobile. There are (2) steel I-beams running down each half of your house as well as beams that run perpendicular from them. They should give plenty of support for a bigger tank. If you haven't looked under your house, you should check it out. Then you'll see where you could set it.
The only place I would be concerned would be right in the middle of your floor away from the I-beams. |

My mistake. I thought you had said you were in a double. The most important thing is to know what type of floor you have. Plywood or OSB.
I used to be in a single wide with an OSB floor, and the weight of my 50 corner made the floor start to sag. Had to cut that section out and replace it with 3/4" plywood! The beams on that house were about 30" from the edge of the walls. So if you can get over top of that you'll be good. They bolt the axles on these beams, so they are made to take some stress. Can you imagine your house folding up traveling down the highway? |

In my 44 years I never owned a trailer before I bought this one 4 years ago and it scares me. Actually, The place I am now considering for my next tank is going to be right on top of one of those beams. Beam this way ------And tank this way ||||| might hold up. Floors are definately plywood. But it's old and been wet many times from plumbing leaks I have had to fix. Blasted old grey plastic plumbing. We'll see what I end up getting but I am way to scared of the 144G made out of 1/2" Glass plus Rock Plus water.

I had a king size waterbed in mine and never had a problem. I think that as long as the weight is spread out over as much area as possible........ Hey! Maybe an inwall......... That would be cool in a mobile!!!
There was a lot of problems with that plumbing. Big class action suit. |

Back on Topic, Still looking for a new 75-90G RR tank & stand.
I have a very nice and brand spanking new Compaq Persario desktop computer system still with full factory warranty to trade. Has Monitor, Keyboard & Mouse! The computer is easily worth alot more than wholesale cost for the tank I need. I'll consider used if in excellent shape. I still have a couple of feelers out there that have not been closed yet but want to make sure everyone sees this in case they are interested. |

Sorry but I spend very little on my hobby as it is due to my physical situation. And my Father in Law has offered to help with "the hole" when he comes down in 2 weeks. Since he's a master carpenter I think I can trust him to do it right. |

Also, Back on to the original topic:
I have made a deal and traded a Brand New Desktop computer for a new 75G RR tank and cabinet stand. It will arrive today. I'm really looking forward to having what I consider a real reef tank as I look at my 55G as a beginner tank. I still have a few more Brand New desktop systems and a Brand New laptop also that I may trade for a 75G for my wife is anyone else is interested or maybe just for lighting and equipment for my 75G since my wife says she will be happy with my 55G. She is moving up from her 29G which is the same tank I started in. Now that she has some experience she wants to move up also. So, For Equipment I might be interested in trading for would be 48" lighting. Needs to be a Fixture since I have no canopy. Or a Canopy with a Retro kit in it. T5 HO's are preferred but will consider others. Also need a larger skimmer. I like the Coralife Super Skimmer 65 that is on my 55G so I would be interested in a Coralife 125 or 220. Basically I look at it like this, If you have something I need or would like to have on or in my tank we can talk. I am going to use the lights off the 55G until I find another trade if possible and just break down the 55G. Will move the wife into it once I get lighting. The wife is also getting the CSS65 skimmer once i get a bigger one. So if you need a new computer for yourself or if you are with a LFS let me know by PM what you are interested in and we'll see what we can work out. I'm smiling ear to ear right now just thinking about setting up my 75G RR. I had hoped to get bigger at first but the more I thought about it, the more I felt a 75G is plenty for now. A 90 was on top of my list but they are the same size as a 75G just taller and with my current lighting I didn't want taller. The main thing I wanted was more room from front to back and with the 75G I get another 6" that way so it works fine. I wish to thank the person that made the deal with me very much! I won't mention the person's name unless they want me to but it really helped me out alot. |

In case anyone still reads this I am still in need of a larger skimmer. Nothing fancy, A CSS125 or CSS225 would suit me just fine. I can trade or buy if the price is right. Have some Brand New 17" CRT Monitors I can trade, Some low end Desktop PCs. A Nice New Toshiba Laptop that works fine with a small crack in the screen. New is almost $900, Will take $400 or trade toward skimmer and ???.
Lights are no longer needed. Got as good as it gets on the 75G now.
