PC last for a long time too but you still need to replace them every year. Do they still throw usable light for that long?
I have never seen them in action. |

LED is an electronic device...it does not "fade" like normal lights...

I will have the different lights set up and grow stuff with them long term so we'll find out what works. I will aslo be using 650nm red in combo with 470nm blues, as well as a greenhouse and a light tunnel. Should be interesting

Justin is the greenhouse the polycarbonate panel one, like this http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/cta...emnumber=93358 It seems it may block the right kind of light out for SPS growth.. see the end of this article--- http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/sh...5&pagenumber=6

Yes its the Polycarb one. It does have almost no UV transmission. I'll see what i can grow. I'm thinking of retrofitting some panels with UV transmissive material or sublimenting with UV LEDS.

Interesting, the 180 LED lost much less intensity vs distance, compared to the 175 MH. I know there are different LEDs that have a different illumination angle, probably it's the tighter focus that helps it keep it's intensity.
Some growth/coloration comparisons will be great.
