Clownfish meta

May be a dumb q, but can larvae make it through meta without bbs? I have no clue why, but this is day8 and I can't get the decapsulated eggs to hatch for the life of me. I think a few of the larvae are ready for meta. Will they make it just on rots? They have good bellies and I've been adding oto A(just a little).

Thanks,
Kevin

I did try a hatch of gsm's w/o bbs, going straight from rots to finely sifted dry foods but not many got through. I think it was about 12 or so. I had some very old Zeigler <100um and I made my own mix from various flakes & pure astaxanthin mashed through a 125um screen.

FWIW even with the current craze over the Otohime I'm not gonna stop hatching artemia twice daily, I feed them to everything because I feel that the stimulation of live foods helps keep my fish in prime condition. I can feed them to saturation on everything else, then add bbs and they eat like crazy

Besides, it's hilarious watching a 5"+ gsm eating bbs

I've never had this problem b4 hatching out bbs. Usually hatches in less than 24hours once decapsulated. I'll keep adding rots while trying to get the eggs to hatch.

Keep up with the dry food too. My last batch, I fed dry first each day and they were so full by the time I got to the NHBS, they hardly needed it.

Kathy,
How were you feeding the A? Did you mix it with tank water first or just dropped it in?
Thanks,
Kevin
