Where the money for my new lights just went!
Well my wife and I have been looking for a good deal for a while and we finally found a good used camper down in Walcott so the money I was going to use to buy new lights just went "down the road" (pun inteded)
We were just tired of either borrowing her parents camper or sleeping in a tent.We bought a 1995 27' Hornet with a Slideout on it. They were having a Mardi Gras sale that ended Sat. so we got a pretty good deal on it. Anyone else in the club do much camping? Here's a pic. ![]() Now we have to sell our car so we can buy something to pull it with. So if anyone is looking for a good used car I'll make you a GOOD deal on it! ![]() 2001 Ford Taurus! SEL LOADED. Leather, power everything, sunroof, spoiler, etc.... (shameless plug)

We like to camp when we can get away. We still like to rough it in the tent though. Nice car, what are you wanting to get out of it, mileage?

We do a lot of camping. We have a Aero lite Cub. I think it is 23 feet. It is one of those expandables so it ends up being like over 30 feet when open. We love it! It also has a slideout. That makes all the difference. Can't wait to go again this year!

Maybe we'll have to have a CLUB CAMPOUT!
It's amazing how much more room you get with the slideout on it! Sent you a PM xroads. If anyone else wants info on the car let me know. I HAVE TO SELL IT SOON!

I may not have a camper, but I have a tent. We do have a boat. It is a 19ft ski boat, could be a lot of fun for a club outing.

My wife and I also rough it in a tent. Its a huge tent but no a/c or bathrooms
( Where does everyone camp at? We like to try new campgrounds. We have a few "favorites" which are more the local spots but also venture. Particularly spook cave we know the owner hes a real good guy and is doing a lot for the campground (shameless plug ;o) I'd probably be up for a club outing |

We went to spook cave last year! My wifes cousin is real good friends with the owner! When we were there it was crazy hot outside but in the cave it was still like 50 degrees. It was the first campground I've ever been to that the shower had a quarter slot to buy how much time you wanted!
Good thing you didn't have to pay to use the toilet! ![]() I have a few favorites as well, we usually hit Pine Lake in Eldora a couple times, and usually Beeds Lake in Hampton. We camped at Brushy Creek once and I'm def. going back there. My friend and I caught some of the biggest crappies I've ever seen there. Not one under 15"

And just so people don't think I'm a "typical fisherman"
I have pictures to back up my story! The walleye was 21"

Wyalusing State Park is one of my favorites when I have the time to head up to Wisconsin. Plus if you have 20 minutes during the trip, you can head into town and buy some AWESOME cheese. MMMMMM.

I just picked up an older 20 ft ski boat last fall. Hoping to have it running this spring. We like to goto Wildcat Den in Muscatine. We like less crowded places so that you cant hear the guy next door snoring. We have been to Spook cave a few years ago but never camped there.

Yeah we've all suggested to remove the quarter thing. I don't think he's in a big hurry. My great uncle gets mad because apparently at 5:00 am (when he showers) there is so much hot water it almost scalds him.... I told him thats what you get for waking up so early on vacation
![]() Them some nice looking fish! It's been a while since I've fished but used to do it all the time. Boundary waters is where you can catch some really nice walleye. Of course you don't have running water or toilets up there, so its a give and take ;o) I will be writing down these destinations on our "to camp at" list. |

You will def. want to hit Pine Lake. It's a very nice park. It has all pine trees around it and there are no mosquitos!
I'm not a big fan of Beeds lake, it's just setup kind of funny. But in the spring you can catch all the crappies you want really easy! They only get about the size of your hand but there's LOTS of them! ![]() Brushy Creek is over by Fort Dodge. It's a pretty nice park. Lots of camping places. They flooded an old valley so there's trees sticking up out of the lake all over the place. Kind of weird. Good fishing but TONS of SNAGS.

We usually just go here in Coralville. We like Sugar Bottom and West overlook. I like to take the kids to the beach there on the reservoir on a hot summer day and look at the scenery
What I really want to do this summer sometime is to take the kids to the grandparents house for a long weekend and just go camping with the wife. Now that would be vacation to me. Just like the old days....but without the tent! |

I've never been to Coralville. My friend has been trying for 2 years to get me down there in the spring to go fishing but never had time. The way it sounds I may have to get down there and check out the beach!

I don't even bother checking the gas mileage when I pull our camper behind our Suburban. heck....as far as that goes I don't check it even when I am not pulling. Really do not want to know!

That thought has actually crossed my mind!
I have a little 10gal. laying around, just be to much of a hassle having to go out to the camper every day and feed and do water changes. Plus the starting and stopping when driving and having the water sloshing out doesn't sound too appealing either.

Good lookin' Expedition! My wife drives a white 2000 Eddie Bauer with the 5.4 and we both love it. Plenty of power.
We don't have a camper, but enjoy camping. Last time we went, we were just a little east of Oskaloosa at Lake Keomah state park. Let me tell you...that was a beautiful campground, and we had simply perfect weather for it. If anyone else gets down that way, you'll definitely enjoy it. Awesome facilities, especially if you were to get a group of people together. Nice big kitchen, big dining area with huge fireplace, well kept, etc. |

If you guys want a nice camping area with some trout fishing, and HILLS look into camping in Decorah, Iowa. Great scenery, chances to got tubing, canoe, camp, hunt, anything you would want. It is my home town so if you have any questions let me know.
