I am converting my 125 from reef to freshwater planted and I don't need as much lighting as I had over the tank. I am selling this 6’ light I built.
The light has been used for ~1.5 years & features (8) 96W PC bulbs arranged in (2) groups of 4. Powering the PC bulbs are 2 Icecap 660's one for each set of 4 bulbs. The outside set of 4 are wired with the fan power. I had 03 actinics connected there so that when they were on, the cooling fans would run. The inside set of 4 were equipped with 10K Coralife bulbs. I have ~15 used bulbs (some 10K & some actinic) that I will give away with the light (all work). There are also 4 ultra quiet (Panasonic) Panaflow fans (2 push + 2 pull) with a variable speed control. Panaflow fans are socket mounted & easily removed for cleaning or replacement. The fans blow across the reflector to cool the bulbs & ballasts. Also there are 2 blue (oval!) LED's built in on a 'moon light' circuit for nighttime illumination. The inside is features an all Aluminum frame to reduce weight and sink heat from the Icecap ballasts. Exposed fasteners are all stainless. There is a ¼†glass that slides out one end to help reduce heating the tank below. If you don't want PC lighting, I also have 3 mogul bases for MH lighting (up to 400W each) which I don’t need. I can deliver if near central florida. Here are some pics: over reef tank back bulbs up (already setup FW -actinics missing) end (fan & speed control) view front shot w/ 4 03's + 4 10K's over new FW tank ![]() email me @ djorg[email protected] if interested (serious inquiries only). --Dave
