Stomatella
After learning about how clowns and Bangii cardinals sex up and reproduce, I feel I need to ask this question. This morning I noticed my Stomatlla snail "puffing" into the water column this morning. He/She done this for a good 2 mins after I noticed it. I do not know if there are anymore Stomatellas in the tank as I did not put this one in there. How do these guys reproduce? I would "assume" that there would have to be another Stomatella to reproduce but like I said before Clowns and Bangiis are odd reproducers so what about the Stomatella?
Thanks |

They are broadcast spawners; males releasing sperm and the females eggs. Been able to witness this many times recently (usually after a water change). The fish in the tank love these events and go crazy gobbling up the eggs.
