Question Hey Skimmer Feaks, I got a Question!

Hello my friends. I recently purchased a Reef Devil Skimmer from AETECH with the down draft design, It is powered by a MAG 7 pump.
Should I use the foam prefilter that comes with the pump or run the pump naked? My thoughts are the skimmer will collect more waste without the prefilter, or am I wrong. You thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

I would think run without it and use a filter sock for any filtering on your return from the tank.

Do not use the prefilter.
