Algae problem

Ok so my fish died at the end of march. i have 12g nano by the way. there was a snail or 2.i havent touched it sense except for cutting the light on and off each day and adding a cup of water every other day.well now months later there is a green algae with red algae ontop of that. the green seems to just be covering everything then the red is hairy or splotchy any ideas how to get rid of it.
