Blue Ricordea splitting?

We have one solitary blue Ricordea polyp that's about 3" across when full grown. Recently there has been a recession on one side of the body, it almost appears as if a slice were missing from a pizza. A blue, pimply PacMan, if you will. I see no evidence that the coral is unhappy, it still responds to light and closes up at night like it always has. There's no sign of a second mouth yet, either. Is it dying or splitting?

if it was dying you'd notice that it wouldnt be as full and bubbley or it would have some tissues damage. It sounds like its just splitting.

This is the Ricordea in question on the 14th of May.

It looks to be splitting.

Don't get too excited though. Mine has looked like an 8 and has had two mouths for a couple of months. From what I've seen and read, they like to take their time with the process

That's fine, so long as it's alive and happy
