Elos test kits

What is the availability of these in the US?

I am in the market for a Calcium and Alkalinity test kits, and from doing some research, the Elos brand is highly recommended (in Europe anyways.)

The new kits all have a minimum of 50 tests per kit with most having more. The PO4 has approx. 160 tests! Old Salty, it was good to talk to you, as well. Was the thread that got you thinking of our kits on this forum or a freshwater forum? I know we talked about it but I can't remember. Let me know if you guys have any other questions.

It was on another reef forum. It was the guy that sent your test kits to a laboratory to have them compared to the scientific testing. Apparently, they did rather well.

ok those thgat got them could you talk about them how do you like them how do they compare to other kits etc, love to try them but well we can only budget so much to something in this hobby mainly intrested how well they work and ease of use.

According to Fed Ex, they should be here today (it's 2:15 am.) This weekend, I will do an indept comparo with Salifert and have pics to show. Keep in mind, it's more of an ease of use and reapeatable results sort of comparison and not an accuracy test.

I received the new test kit today and wanted to say thank you!! I took some of the pointers you gave me and posted my results on the test kit thread. Long story short: I got 450 four different times.

Also, can you PM me on the price of the ATO-10 CO2 glass diffuser (for my planted tank.) The Hagen ladder needs to go!!

old salty, I will pm you that price and good to here the FedEx guy was having a better day and you got this one in better shape. I went through some of my last batch of kits and most have the plastic vials and Nick pm'd letting me know he thought the glass vial was actually an improvement so he carried it through the entire line of the new US kits. I am pretty sure you will be fine with the new one. Like I said before, if we need to change back, we will.
Labman, send me a pm and let me know which kits you are interested in. I will give you the same price that I will charge people at MACNA or free shipping, whichever is cheaper. This goes for anyone who is in our forum for this month. Thanks for the idea.............

For everyone else, since Jesse sent me a new test kit, I went ahead and did a few more tests with the Ca kit and posted the results on the same thread (Test Kit Comparo.) Jesse gave me some pointers on how to use them, including shaking each regeant vial prior to using (like it states in the INSTRUCTIONS!!), and adding 12 drops of Ca regeant C prior to swirling to prevent losing count of drops added. I got 450ppm doing 4 tests in a row. I have it on good authority (NOT Elos) that these test kits give results which are closer to laboratory results than Salifert, hence why I decided to try them.

I just got my first set of test kits here in Canada. Man, I'm impressed!

Something to note, the NO products have SUPER high resolutions in the low range numbers. Get this, the Nitrate test kit only measures from 1.0 ppm and under. Fricking crazy! It's about time someone brought a test kit like this over to North America. I hate trying to fiddle with a color scale trying to figure if I have zero or 5 ppm nitrates, this makes it too easy.

Oh, and one of the food products has Beta Glutamine in it!!!!

Awesome products!

Oh yeah, and the packaging is art!

Glad you liked the test kits. A lot of attention has been put into this line. Did you buy the fish food. as well? The fish food has a very good reputation in Europe with quite a few fish breeders and now they come vacuum packed which is a first for the industry. I believe we were the first with Beta Glutamine, as well. With so many products it is easy for me to overlook, so thanks for mentioning this.

I'm very happy with the quality food and packaging, but I think the cans are too small. I stocked up on four of the Beta Glutamine products and one of the Spirulina products.

This is something that I noticed when I first looked at the food. What I didn't realize about the foods was how high in fat and protein they are and you use MUCH less than a standard pellet food. Something to note that I believe is unique to our food, after our foods are extruded they are sprayed a mix of vitamins, fat and proteins under vacuum (called the OSCAR system).This process brings all that is sprayed on the pellet to the center of each pellet so it can be eaten before it is dissolved into the water. All the foods are available in larger 500ml bottles (even larger sizes are available if needed but these are usually sold to fish breeders) and all the foods have refill packs so you can save your aluminum can. Keep us updated on your results.
