Skimmers Who Is Running What

i was thinking of upgrading skimmers this winter and was wondering what kind and brand everyone has. i have a red sea berlin i got it for nothing. i just planned on useing it until i could afford a new one.

i have heard aqua c spay injection ones are nice but they are high priced units.

oh chad i am on a limited budget. and i dont need anything taller than three feet. if you have any in the warehouse let me know!!

I have a ASM G-5 running in my sump that will be hooked up to a 180. I'm running a G3 right now on my 90 and think It would do better on a 75.

I HAVE LOOKED VERY HARD AT THE G3 SKIMMERS. I THINK IT WOULD BE BIG ENOUGH I HAVE A 75 GALLON WITH A 29 SUMP NOW. WHEN I UPGRADE SKIMMERS I AM ADDING A FUGE. I AM THINKING AROUND 40 GALLON OR LITTLE SMALLER FOR THE FUGE.

After adding the fuge I think you would be better off with a G4 I think it comes with a bigger pump.

If you go with a ASM do the Recirc mod it makes it work a lot better.

I have a G3 recirculating with the gate valve mod and it works great on my 125. Feed it with a small MaxiJet and let the recirc. do it's thing. I tried it with about 600 gph and 300 gph and the smaller gph skimmed better.

ASM G-2 on a 90 works great out of the box, probably could do more with some mods.
