yes it is good, this is their website to buy it directly http://mrswages.stores.yahoo.net/w502-h7425.html you won't save that much from what you are getting it at. Also my local publix ordered two box for me and anyone who needs to purchase.
I will let you know when it arrives |

That's the website I was looking at. I got my ALK up and it fell back down, so I need to stablize it soon before something bad happens.

I don't think kalk is your answer to bring ALK up, try the second part of the Randy Holmes recipe.

Sorry, I meant to bring it up w/ baking soda then use kalk to maintain the level.

Any luck with finding this stuff locally? Everytime I ask at my local publix, they give me the deer in the headlights look.....

I've never used the stuff but I did read a thread on RC that stated how Mrs.Wages was very high on phosphates. you might want to do a search for it.

FELIX, do you have a link, I don't think Randy Holmes would recommend this product if that was the case
I have been using this stuff for a while, I have never notice an increase in phosphates, check this good article, you decide! http://www.reefkeeping.com/issues/2005-01/rhf/index.php |

Wow, I think I might just get some kalk from a LFS and wait till the canning season then. Thanks!

I think the price at a LFS isn't too bad unless you have a monster sized tank that runs through this stuff daily. I'm only around 40 gals... go a 1lb supply of Kalkwasser will last me for quite a while. I only use it as top off... so far everything looks great, lots of coraline algae forming.
Gary, talk to that one guy at Fishes of Eden... he has told me A LOT of stuff and anything he says I follow. |

That's exactly the thread I was talking about, and I guess Randy cleared it up.
