Yeh this is not good at all. That man did more for conservation than anyone IMO. His presence will be missed.

Awwwwwwww, I am so sad. This man was so wonderful. He is one person that I would say was a gift to our world, he did so much good. I will pray for his family, this really makes me so sad.

The guy was a nutcase, sticking his head in allagators mouth and saying "I am inches from death, but this animal is Georgus." ~_~ I feel sorry for his wife and kids though.

I agree that what he did, educating people, conservation, and showing the gentle side of such magnificent beasts such as snakes *shudder* and crocs. It is a great loss, he brought priceless info to kids(discovery kids) and adults(discovery channel) and not only on crocs and snakes, but other animals as well. I remember an episode on Platypus, and stuff like that. It is a big loss also to Austrilla, as he brought in all kinds of money. Its just mhyh personal opinion that he was a bit...nuts...for some of the things that he did.

On a brighter note, I beleive that I am a bigger nutcase

I know, I told my son who is in college majoring in biology, and he was really upset. He loved watching this man and respected him highly. I feel that much of my sons interest developed from the good he saw this man do. This is very sad for all of us that appreciated his work, mainly we need to think of his family.

What a huge loss to the world!! I have high hopes his family and friends will carry on his good works. From what I've seen of "Bindi," his daughter, she will follow in Daddy's footsteps and carry on ... This is just another testament to "when your number comes up, no matter what you are doing ..."

He was really a pro at handling wild animals. I'm surprised that something hasn't taken him out before now... a wild hippo, elephant, gaboon viper, shark, crocodile, box jelly, etc. He got up close and personal with a lot of stuff I won't go near except on the other side of a zoo fence. He will be missed.
