Does a Oceanic 30 gallon need foam for the edges if placed on flat table?

About to setup Oceanic 30 gallon glass tank on flat wooden surface. (No open middle). Should I run over to Wallmart and by 3/4" foam padding and cut out a outer frame for the glass to wood pressure issue?

I have done that before but not that thick of foam.

Brian Koyama, The Petco sale. I ran everywhere hunting down my tank during the sale. Found it at Petco near Olympic in LA.
