Stiff brittle star
In an aquarium I maintain for a dentist, he has a big green brittle star. I went the other day and the star was completely stiff and not moving. I picked it up and it did not move at all.
It was really weird. Anybody know anything?

Well, I assume it is still alive. They have remarkable flexibility and can become stiff like this. Was it otherwise moving?

It was not moving at all, but it looked healthy. I picked it up and it was stiff.

That is a response they have when frightened.
