I was wondering in fact if anyone has tried any reef-safe wrasse at all... I know, pelagic spawners are not that easy to raise, but at least pairing and spawning

There is a fellow here on RC that is totally into wrasses, especially Fairy Wrasses. I talked to him years ago about the possibility of breeding them, he had some knowledge on the subject. When I get a chance I'll ask him to comment here, his name escapes me right now.

I saw some pictures of cleaner wrasse (L. dimidiatus I think), on a site about eggs and larvae of reef fishes but too few comments.
![]() Fairy and flasher wrasse would be cool as many others. Anderson.

I think the guy you are referring to is Bronco7777, he is very knowledgable with fiary wrasses.
We have 3 pairs of fairy wrasses (flame, lineatus and labouti) and a pair off six lines, to date I have not witnessed any spawning/mating routines. Also I say pairs but to be honest I am not certain they are male/female. For all pairs I added a large colorful male with a smaller/duller juvenile. I have read that fairy wrasses all start out female and the most dominant/largest becomes the male. All our pairs co-exist and seem to stick together. The two six lines are always within a foot or two of each other and it is a 220 (72x24x30). The game plan is not to breed them but wanted pairs to watch their interactions etc. If anything ever starts I will let people know out here. |
