Suicidal Anemone?

So I bought one of the split BTAs from Bones last night and then took it home and stuck it in my tank. I placed it in the center as that is where I wanted it to be if it would stay there. It came on a chunk of rubble rock. Before I went to bed it was half opened and when I woke up it was gone. Further investigation found that it was attached to a rock while being sucked up a power filter intake tube. Nothing is left of this thing anymore except a small piece of foot. Has this ever happened to any one before? What problems will I have with chunks of anemone in my filter?
