Hair Algae or Dinoflagellates?!? Help!
Okay,
I don't know which type of algae I've got... I've been looking at pictures on here and when I see the dino algae, mine looks like it. But then I see pics of hair algae and it looks like that too... Look at the rock behind the blue hippo. ![]() Look at the rock behind the blasto.

Dinos cover everything in a tan/brown snot film. They can be siphoned off, but hair algea (which is usually greener) cannot be removed with out plucking.
Cyano is smilar looking to dinos but is usually red/crimson in color.
