What is the best way to get rid of coraline on an acrylic tank because the coraline is starting to cover the viewing side. I have tried to scrub with a magnet pad and a regular scrub pad, but they do not work.

People i tallk to with acrylic said to use a credit card or a PLASTIC scraper. Whatever you do do not use an abbrasive scrubber or metal it will mess your tank up bad.

I've heard of a dishwashing tool that supposedly works on acrylic. It's a little battery powered scrubber and the end nylon bristles spin around. It's submergable too. I haven't been able to find it anywhere locally though. Maybe someone else knows what I'm talking about.

Cant you use like 4000 grit sandpaper attached to your magnetic cleaner to take care of it ???

I use the plastic scraper (Kent is one of several manufacturers). Works well. Had one spot that was let untouched for months (rock was in the way that I moved recently). The plastic scraper took care of it wihtout scratching the tank

This is why I will never buy another acrylic tank. When I had one though, I used the Kent one or a credit card.

NOT 4000! if you want to try try 6000 or higher. 8000 to 12,000 is OK although is not that effective, the best is an old credit card or get the Kent plastic scraper.

the kent scrapers work good but they don't last you have to replace the blade when they get dull
another less evpensive one that works good is cpr scraper
premium aquatics has them for about a $1 each.

I will try the credit card method first to see if that will work, if not I will go with the Kent scraper.
Thanks for the info.
