One of the torsion springs gave out. CLANG! Now it's super heavy (gotta eat more wheaties ;) ) and needs to be replaced. Anybody have experience with that or could recommend somebody local?

Was looking online and it's not a recommended DIY due to the forces on the spring when tensioned.

I HATE garage doors its rarely a cheap fix I guess thats with anything these days though wish I could help. One time a had a 6 foot 1/2 inch sheet of glassleaning on the garage rail well the wife didnt look and lowered the garage and lets just say the sheet of glass one. The garage door was bent so bad it needed a whole new door

I had my torsion springs replaced in Jan. it ran about 225.00 installed

I did the spring myself, it was easy. The only hard part was getting the old ends off the broken spring. So get new ones with the spring
