We plan a vacation to Orlando in June. Are there any LFS that we can visit? The link doesn't work in the sticky.

Thanks,
Tin

We just returned from a vacation in Orlando a couple of weeks ago. We stopped at two LFS.

World Wide Corals. 11765 S. Orange Blossom, Orlando 407-856-2066, not positive but I think their hours are 11-7pm everyday. Beautiful store but pricey. They had a wonderful selection and very helpful staff. We could have spent hours there.

The second place is a little outside of Orlando (about 40 min from world wide corals). We found it by accident driving to my parent's house. It was Nolan's Aquarium, 2400 US 92 East, Lakeland, FL 863-667-3500. Mon-Sat 10-8, sun 12-6. They didn't have quite as big of selection, store is nice but not as pretty (still better than anything we have here) but their corals were larger and not as expensive. Very helpful stafff.

We bought too much at both places. They double bagged everything and we put them in a cooler. They were in the cooler about 30 hours. The temperature started dropping about half way home so I stuck a couple of small heating packs in the cooler. Everything looks beautiful. I am ready for another road trip, my bank account however does not agree. Have a great time!

on the pricey end of life-world wide corals, sea in the city, aquaria(or aqua...something like that) studio.
on the less pricey to really fair end-ocean blue in winter park is really nice, prices vary, but the setup is slick like WWC is slick, which is always fun. several really pretty tanks set up for eye candy and keeping kiddos entertained if you've got any along(they also have some cool fish my sister went nuts for, big eels and lionfish and the like). if you're heading to daytona beach, check out amazing aquarium design. not super slick, but really nice guys who know their stuff and don't over charge(and they've got a seahorse tank-again, something to keep kids/spouses busy for a bit, along with a cushioned chair.). if you're free on a weekend, LBA corals is run by a local hobbiest on Sat and Sun, and everyone raves about Art's corals ;)

hope that helps, and enjoy the sunshine state!!

Hard to believe that Aquaria Studio is high priced while Ocean Blue is less, since they are owned by the same person. LOL.

Got to oceans direct in long wood good seleccion, no one beat the price and there always helpfull
Just to give you a hint the owner somtimes let the local reef clubs have their frags metting at his place
it does not get shipper than a frag meeting
but if you have money to trow away visit the ones mention above

nothing better than a store owner that support true hobbiest, giving everyone fair prices and 20 years of experience on fishes and coral

i was going on the 'common knowledge' on aquaria studio, i've never made it all the way down there but everything i've ever heard has lumped them in with sea in the city and WWC price-wise. i have been to ocean blue and they had a nice tank of <$20 frags ;)
obviously, depending on what they happen to have in stock, any store might have some more economical pieces/prices at different times. i was just generalizing.
