No doubt =)
It´s weird how it can change parameters by it self , but i guess it is built in feature.

Having just bought a 5th Kore and now read through all these pages I don't know what to expect but hopefully there's enough happy users to point me in the right direction for my queries.
Doser firmware has been updated to latest version via my IMac without problem.
I've calibrated each head and will run a series of test. On calibration I checked what had been saved and it matched my test programme so hopefully by end of tomorrow I should know if the Doser is dosing correct amounts under a single dose.
Q1. Can someone explain the different dosing option i.e. 1,2,c5 etc and what they provide.
Q2. If selecting more than one dose how do you ensure that doses aren't at the same time
Q3. Not to do with dosing but temp. The probe seems to have a little rubber cap on it. Should this be left on or taken off. Plan to use it for high/low alarm function as I use a temp controller.
Q4. I currently run a reefloat atu. The kore 5th has a built in atu function. How reliable have users found it with the optical sensor. Switching would save me a plug outlet and I can then move the reefloat to holiday duty to keep the atu filled.
Q6. What are the different flow rates used for and which am I better using. Will be using reeflowers all, calc, mag & elements + nopox. I have the dropper fitting as well as the standard one.
Q6. If using nopox do I need different tubing if so which type as there was only one kind in the box.
Q7. Some of the dosing heads make a slightly different noise. How do I check they've been assembled properly. Is there some instructions or a video I can watch
Q8. NRVs. Should they be installed pre or post Doser or should I run them at both ends
Q9. Unit came with some different tube for use in the dosing heads what are they for?
First impressions are its a very well built and good looking unit which just fits into the right cabinate of my RSR350
No problems connecting via Bluetooth with the iMac despite it being on floor above.
Firmware update was easy and only took a few mins.
Software and unit setup would benefit with a bit more user friendliness via the manual.
Connectivity seems ok and I'm using iPad to remote into the iMac and control the Doser without issue.

I'm using my Kore5th for almost 2 years now and don't have bad things to say. It might not be perfect but it works and has lots of good things.
One thing I'm disappointed in, it's still doesn't have mobile app that was promised long time ago. So any time I want to communicate with the doser, I have to turn my laptop on which is not a deal breaker, but mobile app would help a lot.
A lot of your questions could be answered just reading instructions
http://static.fachowcy.pl/files/3219127820/Kore_5th_manual_1.6a.pdf
Q1. Choose any of these options and you will see how software divides the doses over period of time. If you are dosing 120ml of solution and choose option 12, and your first dose let's say at 01:00, then doser will dose 10ml of the solution every 2 hours
Q4. The ATO works fine for me, never missed a beat, I'm very happy with it. I use optical sensor and it works great
Q7. Never worried about different noise coming from the heads. Once they are calibrated I check the calibration from time to time and if it stays the same there is nothing to worry about
Q9. The different tubing in the package is for fast flow. Once installed tubing on the heads wore out, I have replaced with included fast flow tubing and chose fast flow on the software. It doses liquid in fast flow more precise than with other tubing.
Play with the software and you should have no problems working this doser.

I have also been using it and I am very pleased.
Always double check when you make a change to be sure it says what you specified.
I also check my calibration monthly...

Hello.
Let me answer for rest of questions.
2 - When You set how many doses per day You need You will see daily shedule of dosing.
3 - Cap should be on optical sensor. Please not remove it.
5 - Flow speed depend on single dose. If You will dose much fluid please choose fast flow. If You need drops please choose moderate or precise flow.
6 - Now in all dosing heads we use Pharmed Bpt tubbings which could dose nopox.
8 - NRV should be mounted on end of each tubbing output.
Best regards
Pacific Sun Service.

2. I don't seem to see any detailed dosing schedule on the IMac software.
3. Question related to temp sensor not optical.
6. So are you saying that the clear tube from the Doser is also nopox compatible
8. No mention of NRVs in documents and I'm not sure which way round to mount them
Thanks

Anyone know the differences in the 4 different models? There is the (1) main unit only, (2) regular, (3) pro, and (4) ultimate.
For the main unit only: does it have the temperature probe, and how finely can it dose?
Przemek_PacSun

Hi,
There is no Regular version available actually.
There are:
1) Starter Edition - include Kore 5th unit and power supply
2) Base unit(also called Main unit) - include doser, power supply, acrylic holder for tubings and 10m of additional tubing for doser connection
3) PRO - include above(like in Base) but also - optical sensor for ATO, DC pump for ATO, digital temperature sensor.
4) Ultimate - include everything like in PRO - but also AWC(automatic water change module with two DC pumps), top/bottle acrylic holder.

In this week we release app for Diuna T5 lamps, next week we should finish for SMR(Pandora Hyperion S/Metis Hyperion S) and last - for Kore5th.
But please remember that this application will have limited functionality - Customer will can check bottle status, adjust dosing amount per day in each channel separately and do basic adjustment for ATO. For more advanced settings (like calibrations, advanced dosing settings etc) PC/Mac application should due used.

Hi Przemek,
I ordered mine (Order #1350) and looking forward to set it up.
Can you please help getting the doser ship to me soon?
Good to hear you are releasing new software as well, I love my Pandora S.

Hello all,
I just want everyone to know that my doser is working again. I am in the process of calibrating and hopefully things will be off and running. Kore 5th tech folks worked with me. The problem was not bluetooth, nor the power supply. It ended up being the motherboard in which I sent back and they fixed free of charge. (Despite being out of warranty, which I consider fair since I have not been able to use much during the warranty)
The issue may have been created by me. Generally from what was explained that this may have been caused by plugging an item in one of the back ports without turning the unit off first. I may have done this when trying to set up the optical sensor.
Although it took quite some time to get the motherboard back from Poland, I am excited to give this another try as my aquarium is doing well and it really would be nice to automate my two part schedule. I am in the process of calibrating and hope that the product will give me years of service as it out of the warranty date.
At this point I was able to connect to bluetooth easily, and since I had older firmware I connected via emergency tab and was able to upgrade the firmware. It takes a bit of time but all went fine.
My hope is to have this set up shortly and will monitor the dose a couple of days before allowing it to dose the aquarium.

Most likely a substantial price tag...
Only 450 euros according to pacsun's FB page. With current exchange rate and VAT factored in that beats the hell out of paying $1250 for kh guardian. If Kore 5th is doing all of the "controller" part, then that make price makes sense. I am hopping it has its own pumps and doesn't require a whole Kore 5th to itself to function.

Well, looks like this experiment turned into a very expensive mistake. Everything tested and calibrated perfectly. Finished plumbing in the new pumps and left the AWC work. Noticed the pump 1 would stop after few seconds when pumping out water. Did a firmware update, clean memory, reset settings, now neither the litermeters nor internal pumps are turning over. I guess 5w litermiters were just too much for Kore 5th to handle.

Please contact with service - they will give you informations what can be wrong (maybe litermeter pumps take too high current?)

03/19/2017, 11:41 PM
I sent them an email already. I repeated the trouble shooting procedure again (firmware update, memory clean and load defaults) with the doser right next to the bluetooth adapter. With everything but the power disconnected, the internal dosing pumps do not respond when turned on manually via the software. I think you are right, the litermeters probably overloaded a voltage regulator in the kore 5th. One thing I have not tried is a different powersupply. What is the required amperage on the PSU?, I am honestly not even certain I have been using the original one.
andrek787
03/19/2017, 11:50 PM
It is a rather ironic outcome, as the main reason I did this was not wear out the internal pumps with these large WCs. Hindsight, I should of just used relays....
Przemek_PacSun
03/20/2017, 02:40 AM
Yes, relays would be perfect solution - they not drain too much current and you can connect any other pumps by them.
Power supply should have 12v and 1A

I got a quick response from Tomasz, but my options are limited to sending in the mainboard to Poland to attempt a repair. As I need a replacement asap, I guess I will need to purchase a starter edition to use in the meanwhile.
If there are any "unsatisfied" owners willing to part with their units, I would be happy to take it off your hands.

I've found that I need to connect, soft reset then pump 1 works. Soft reset and pump 2 will work but pump one won't.
To make changes I have to make the change and calibrate again, soft reset then disconnect.

Interesting that it ran for several hours before all motors stopped responding. So, wouldn't that mean that if any external accessory shorted it would take down the whole pump?

I don't see it. But is that the only change? Are the connections the same in the back? Why the change? If it's a whole new gen, change should be pretty significant other than just a color change.
There was a run of all white dosers late 2015 early 2016 I believe. Were those gen 3?

I have received my doser few days ago.
This thing is a beast, top notch hardware quality.
I had some trouble using the application but I think I found the solution and it's all good and was very easy to calibrate and set it up.
Using windows, the setup should have been opened with "Open as Administrator" option to work without issue. I didn't have this issue with my Pandora light though.
Thanks Pacific Sun!!
Have a question if you guys can help would be great, I had to put the doser on the stand shelf upside down for the pump fitting to be hang downward and connect to my containers, but now the screen is upside down as well. It's not a big deal but just want to make sure I am not doing something stupid !!

AWC procedure start at xx:50 of each hour.
Can you tell me which size of tank you have if you need to do more 5than 500 liters weekly water change? That limitations is set in software, we never had any questions about that but if you need replace more than 500L weekly - we will ask programers for increase maximum water change volume.

Przemek,
I moved the user time to xx.49.30. It beeped and started pumping on Pump 1 but after about 15 seconds it stopped and the other pump never turned on. I noticed the screen was blank while the pump was running. I left it alone and tried to catch it at xx.50 and I heard two beeps and nothing happened.
I am using the latest firmware and software available for download from the website. When the software is running and connected the bottom of the windows Shows software version 1.6C and firmware version shows 1.6E, however the title bar in the software 1.6e.

It shouldn't be any issue related to software/firmware. Everything depend from water amount replaced in single change.
If that amount is too small and level sensor will not react to water change - it will not dose "fresh" saltwater.
Be sure that your optical sensor is placed in last chamber and water levels are correct.

The weekly water change amount is set to max of 500l, which translates to 3L per change. Pump 1 is calibrated to 210ml/min, so that means the pump should run for 14min. Only the Optical sensor is installed as main ATO sensor. As Tomasz suggested, I tried removing the Optical sensor out of water, before setting the xx.49.55 user time. Same result, pump stops before 1 min. Also tested, removing the sensor from the water after the pump started running. I also tested setting diffetent calibration values, result is the same.

I had one of these for 3 years and on Tuesday it kind of went out on me. Crazy. It was 'off' and after I restarted it, all seemed fine. In the morning, however, somehow the entire contents of ALL dosing fluids had been pumped into the aquarium (sump). And the ATO pump must have gone wild too because the sump was almost overflowing. BUT---when I saw the doser, it was again 'off'....totally shut down.
SO, I got a new one today from DeepWater. The updated software seems similar.
My problem: I can get it to "connect" to my laptop and can make the pumps turn on etc, however I cant seem to get the message in the screen to move past "refreshing settings, please wait".
Also the new unit didn't come with the float switch for ATO----only an optical sensor. Is the new rig supposed to run the ATO with optical sensor only? seems strange to me. I cant get the old float switch to activate the ATO pump but I can turn on the ATO pump 'manually' from laptop.
any help is appreciated. I remember having a lot of trouble getting the original unit set up, mostly because I'm too old to know how to program anything.

I noticed that as well. There was a "ready to use" type of message after it finished refreshing the first page in the older versions of software. It seems to work ok though.
I think they discontinued the float switch a while back, so it's optical only now.

thanks for the reply,,,,I'm sure there are plenty of nice people in the 'club', but I "would never join one that would have me as a member".
seriously---any info on how to set up the optical sensor would be helpful. Is it still based on 'time' that the DC pump is on and what triggers it to activate? is the optical sensor supposed to be submerged and then you just run the water into sump for xx seconds? I guess I could just play with it. It'd be nice if the manual had at least a description of this....very lame instructions.
also---so, I just ignore that "refreshing settings"? It also doesn't allow me to use the 'refresh settings' button on the "connect" page. I just get an error box.
does anyone know of a customer service number I could call for some help? US based would be nice.....thanks

It depends on the Optical sensor you have. Older ones screw into the same acrylic bracket that the float one used. That one you adjust so that the cone is just below the water surface. The newer ones are glued to the bracket in horizontal position. Those you adjust the bracket so the sensor is halfway submerged at the water surface. In software, you go to the systems tab and change the Optical sensor option to "main ATO" . Next on the ATO tab, enable the Optical sensor check box. It will let you set the amount of time it runs the ATO pump. Be sure you plug the temp sensor and the Optical switch into correct ports as they use the same plug and and are next to each other.

Actual dosers not include floating sensors - only opticals. Also newest software not support floating sensors anymore.
Be sure that you are using latest software available for that doser(not previous one used with your old one). Remove all previous bluetooth devices and discover new one.
It's hard to say what is wrong with your "old' dozer - maybe power supply malfunction ?
Please catch our service@pacific-sun.eu for advanced troubleshooting if above will not help - they can connect remotely with you and check your dozer settings(where problem is placed)

The issue may have been created by me. Generally from what was explained that this may have been caused by plugging an item in one of the back ports without turning the unit off first. I may have done this when trying to set up the optical sensor.
I don't view plugging something into the unit without first turning the unit off as a user error.

Yea... I am not going to worry about it now. It's probably in the doc somewhere...
It's fixed, been working as needed. Only dosing 2 part.
I am not sure if I want to try doing anything else with it. I am happy that I am not manually dosing for now.
Maybe in another six months I look at doing water change.

I have the Apex to give me an email/phone warning when it is a bit lower. So a check in the plus column for the Kore 5th for this initial warning notification.

Yes, in the currently published Software and Firmware combination 1.6E, the external DC AWC does not function properly. About 3 weeks back, I had a 2am tech support session to diagnose this issue and then they were able to reproduce the problem in Poland. Some of the DC AWC settings are not being saved correctly.

Thanks for letting me know, i'll wait to set mine up then. would you mind describing the issue? Is the external pump pumping too much, not enough etc?
One issue i had a couple of weeks back was the weakening of my ATO pump. Worked fine, had 4' of head pressure or so (6.5' is the max according to the documentation) but then stopped working until i placed my ato container on a shelf reducing the head pressure.

My AWC setup is designed to do larger on demand water changes, running each pump for 20+ min. Unfortunately, pump 1 stops after just 27 seconds, no matter how the settings are configured.
I actually made a custom AWC setup that uses Spectra-pure litermeter pumps instead of the original pumps, because I need to pump water to a remote drain and pull fresh water from storage tanks 40 ft away.
The DC pump output can be used to control a relay, that can turn on and off a litermeter. That would allow you to pull ATO water from anywhere you want, litermeter's vaccum/draw limit is 25ft down (2 stories down?)
I really wish PacSun would just release a controlled outlet, like this:

Thats sounds like a killer setup. Luckily my sump is in basement so the pump is adjacent to the sump. So if i run my pumps for 25 seconds at a time i should be safe right?
It would be nice if pacsun had a controlled outlet. and wifi too lol.
However i am looking forward to the alk monitor.

@Andrek787
AWC was designed to work with our own pumps - used in AWC sets. AWC is being used with that set it's working properly which was proven by many hundreds of Customers worldwide.
Our pumps have maximum flow with 200 L/h. It mean, that if your tank is 1000 liters capacity and you are doing 5% water change weekly(50 liters) - during one day there is replaced about 7 liters of water = in single water change (24 changes daily) about 300 ml. So pump is working about 10-20 seconds(depending from setup) for single water change every one hour.
Your setup is untypical - you are using relays and slow flow pumps which require turned it on for several minutes (20+ as you said).
So it's not broken AWC functionality - simply it's not working in your exact situation when 3rd party pumps are used with our Kore 5th.
We got your request regarding doing changes in firmware for longer work but it's not so easy due main code structure and time table.
I don't want to dig too deep into code now(and explains too much) but due reason how dozer is working(checking in "which minute" it is already and what he should do in this time) extending time like you did make dozer not working properly.
We check possibility changing it, unfortunately there is few other projects(like parallel work on Android app for SMR/Kore 5th and other platforms) and we can push it with highest priority now.
It's not like we don't want to do that - but simply it's not so easy like changing two numbers in few places in source code and it will start working for you.
We are getting several request daily with questions about android app for Kore 5th and now it's most actual project where our programmers move their resources.
Hope that you understand it.
I can promise you that if that firmware modification for you will be possible we will do that and inform you asap.
Thank you.

Przemek,
Ok. Let's assume for a second that only the original DC pumps can be used for AWC. The time limit I ran into is 27 seconds per cycle, which would also apply to the standard DC pumps. Max flow on those DC pumps is 200lph with no back pressure. That translates to 3.3l per min, which means max cycle change @ 27 seconds is 1.5 liters. 1.5L x 24 x 7 is 252L, which is the true maximum water change that can be done in a week. Software actually allows up to 500 liters per week to be configured.
In a real world scenario, waste water and fresh SW reservoirs would not be located next to the aquarium, so those tiny DC pumps would not be capable of pumping anywhere near the 200lph max, considering the 3m max head pressure rating.
This means depending on the plumbing configuration and weekly change volume anyone that hits the 27 second limit is unknowingly not getting the water change volumes they have configured.

Hello
That pumps are not rated for 3m head pressure.
Depending from used tubing size its about 160-185cm.
It's first time when we got request like yours and never before we had any complains regarding cable lengths or AWC working time - maybe because there were used our original DC pumps etc. In many houses(here in EU for example) close aquarium there is drain pipe for home waste water - so "waste" water from aquarium don't have to be collected in container.
Container with "fresh" saltwater is many times located close to tank/sump.
Yes, we have limited weekly water change volume to 500 liters(which is probably enough for more than 95% of all home aquariums on markets)
But there is no any limit for 1 minutes per single water change so your calculations is not exact.
If that water change(single change) will be for 5 minutes for example - with theoretical efficiency 100l/h (1.6L/min) - during single water change it can replace more than 8 liters of water.
24 changes daily x 7 days - it give us more than 1300 liters in week.
So within two minutes in single water change(using our pumps and with half of projected efficiency) it give more than 500 liters weekly.
You are getting that limit 27 seconds because due "so high numbers" used in dozer memory calculations and there is numeric error(sourced by some limits of used data probably).
It's not limited to 27s by hardware/software.

PS has issues with Apple restrictions on the Bluetooth use. I think its been mentioned here on the thread several times by Przemek.
If their is one thing i think that could be said negative about PS products its their fixation with BT.
I think they know this very well especially in the cloud days we are in. The non ability to control my lamps from outside the house is a real bugger for me, because my home internet service does not work with dynamic ip services and does not allow fixed ip's. I real bummer because power cuts looses the time and date for my lamp even so i replaced the battery several times...

Przemek, i replaced it again last year when i did the mod from 4-8 bulbs. Too be honest its too much hassle to open up the lamp, to do it again. Since pressing one button user time is a 3 sec fix and i dont have power cuts often, but once every few months. Sadly they tend to happen when i am on trip. Which makes the fish live on a different timezone all of a sudden. The balance of the data stays, i do not loose my settings. (PS both my dosers do not have any battery issues and they are running many years as i was one of the first owners of both, i started this tread ;) )
Lets focus on bringing these awesome products into the 21st century, the options and programmeblitiy are already second to none, we are only talking about the way to access these lamps and dosers...

So i set up my AWC a couple of days ago. I wasnt pleased with the fact that the water can siphon through the pump. My sump is a basement sump on a stand so my collection container is below the water line of the sump. I had to create an air gap with a 5 gallon bucket to spill in to my container, RO fittings etc. Im going to have to find another way to create the air gap because this mess is unsightly.
If the DC pumps worked as advertised i could pump the water up into my sanitary sewer line but since they don't, i can't. Advertising of 2 meters but only effective, at best, at 1.75 meters.
One interesting note, i had 48" (1.22m) of head pressure / height on my ATO, it worked fine for awhile but then just stopped working until i raised my ATO container by placing it on a shelf.
Back to what I was saying,
Got the AWC up and running, set it up for 10% weekly changes. What i noticed was that the Water out pump would turn on, then water in and then my ATO would turn on. I went through 6 gallons of my ATO in one day.
Im assuming that refill maximum time limit is being reached and turning off due to this therefore not filling up my sump to the top of the optical sensor so the kore is using the ATO to finish the job. Hopefully my assumption is correct, i changed the water change percentage to 7% so hopefully this correct the issue.
I know these are complaints, but this is still one of the best if not the best doser on the market. With a little Love from PacSun though, this could be hands down one of the best pieces of aquarium tech to get.

Hi Jongan,
Thank you for your feedback - I will forward it to our service.
About siphon effect - all DC pumps(even some peristaltic pumps with two rollers) will do siphon effect. It's important for having hose output above water level.
Head pressure - it depend from tubing diameter and how its placed(straight or some curves). You can remove from your DC pump that small "regulation" plastic knob - it will increase our pump flow/pressure.
There is new firmware which have improved AWC mode - it should be released (officially) soon, together with Android app(that firmware is prepared to work with mobile devices).
Please contact with service@pacific-sun.eu and ask for sending it to you tomorrow.
Thank you again.
Regards
PS> We expect that beta download for android phones (working with Kore 5th) should be ready within next few days(I have it on my phone but there is still some minor bugs needed to fix).
I promise to keep you all updated.

I am happy to report that improved AWC functionality added in the upcoming firmware is working great. I currently have 16 min "waste out" cycle.
I am successfully changing out 20 gallons per day using my custom spectrapure pump system. I actually modified the set up a little and have my controller perform ATO when water level in the sump get too low during "waste out cycle". The refill is done using 3X concentrated saltwater and stops ones level reaches the optical sensor. By I adjust the optical level height based on how salinity changes and how long the refill cycle runs. This also allows me to slowly adjust salinity to the desired level.
The dosing is scheduled right before the AWC cycle starts.

I recently picked up this doser in 1st generation. Read through every post in this thread. Using iMAC and have the correct BT dongle. Playing with it all week to get familiar and all is going well. Decided to update firmware before going live. Received the Mac OS app for the firmware.
First time I tried it downloaded about 60k data. Then I got the message the update failed, click Rescue Mode > Update > Reset.
Then it downloaded about 100k data before it failed again. Received same message: click Rescue Mode > Update > Reset. After 110k download... same message.
Repeated the process, now the update seems stuck and I am afraid to touch anything.
Device resetted
firmware update in progress...
Used file - PSunFlash.app (1).zip
Please
wait........................................
..............................................
..............................................
..............................................
..............................................
Status on device says: Connected, Uploadiing...
Tri-position switch was moved from upper position > reset position > upper position.
Device is setting on my desk inches away from the BT dongle.
Any suggestions? I don't need an expensive brick.

Same as to other promises, it never gets delivered on time [emoji44]. That's one thing I don't like about Pacific Sun - they never make good on their promises.
They have good products, but their promises about new apps or updates are never fulfilled on time, which is shame.

We are working on it - as we promised previously we will inform about that when it will be finally ready.. Not earlier - not later. Please be patient.
I see thats my fault that I told anything about software updates and forthcoming apps publicly. Writing apps and debugging them is something more complicated than simply building device/hardware. We will not release something which is not working or is early Beta version.
So I can say sorry - and I can promise that it will never happen again(information about any updates/soft versions).
It will not make any disappointments when anything will be released later than Customers expect.

Yes Przemek, it's better to show the app when you already have it and not tell us that the app will be released let's say this weekend, and two months later your weekend still haven't arrived.
It's better to say that app or software will be released let's say after two months and then you actually release it earlier then promised. Now that would make everyone happy and not the other way around.
Still patiently waiting for the app and wishing you best of luck with your business [emoji106]

Does any one have the wiring pinout diagram for the Kore 5th I/O Digital port?
I have a custom doser container (5" x 20" - 3 section). The Pacific Sun magnetic stirrer is too small so I'm building a stirrer to meet my needs. I could turn off/on with the Apex, but would rather have the Kore 5th doser control the stirrer to match dosing times.

I have the same issue. I switched over to Aquaforest 3-part and stuff settles out overtime. I am using 5.5L oxo containers and there is no way the stirrer would work. I found magnetic stirring plates online that would fit perfectly but don't have spare outlets on the cerebra.
The Kore's IO may even connect to the stirrer digitally. Only way to find out would be to use a voltmeter to see which pins go up when Kore 5th is supposed to be stirring each channel.
I seriously doubt PacSun will let us have the IO pinout.....

From technical point of view - it's possible to connect other stirrers than our (or other pumps than our original DC pump) - however any modification will be done on Customer responsibility.
Maximum power output for DC pumps(AWC pump) is 5W.
Magnetic stirrer need digital relay(like SSR) for switching on/off external stirrer because on digital output port there is only digital signal (0/1) - you can't connect any power device(even taken very small power from doser)

All 5 channels of the stirrer on at the same time even though I set each channel at 5 min. a part.
My stirrer magnets spinning throughout the day even though I set to dose 4 drops one time only. Still haven't able to track down the sequence yet.

You have to use relays to control anything other then original pumps. Trust me, I burned a doser trying to run 5w Spectrapure pumps. I got it working, pumping and pulling 40ft at 200ml/min. PacSun was nice enough to make firmware changes for me so I can change out 40 gallons per day. Goods news is you can use any kind of DC pumps you want, outputs give enough to switch heavy duty automotive relays.

Part of kHLab was software for wireless firmware update working on mobile devices.
We finished it now and together with latest firmware and mobile app will be published probably today.
We didn't want to release kHLab without full support from mobile devices - now when windows app and android app are ready we will release fix for Mac OS app because some customers reported problems with connectivity - a specially on iMacs which have shared Bluetooth modules with mouse/keyboard.
New firmware / software include also improved calibration procedures which are very easy now.

Hi Przemek,
Could you please explain how to calibrate my dosing pumps?
I just don't understand why you need to click Start calibrate while you also have Check Calibration? Should it be just Check Calibration for 10ml Test dose. Then based on the results just use the Flow Adjustment then Check Calibration again and adjust the Flow Adjustment until it's perfect?
Also why need to manually use Flow Adjustment? It should be simple as to record the results and the system should adjust it accordingly. Do that a few time then it would be perfect. For example, if I test 10ml and the results is only 9ml. Record that and the system should adjust its flow automatically.

Hello
Sure, we are here for help.
1. Start calibration - it start whole process and allow for calibrate dosing pump(each channel separately). Check calibration allow for checking calibrated channel on exact amount of liquid.
Why it's done like that?
Dosing tubings due their physical nature change hardness during pump work time. Tubing have different hardness in first second of work - and also different in 20s. Different hardness mean different "flow capacity". Longer pump is working - flow is changing.
for example:
If you will calibrate channel for dosing properly 10ml of water it will do that every time(lets agree that it take 10 seconds).
But, if you will want to dose 100ml (100 seconds) it will dose LESS liquid than 100ml - because tubing hardness/flexibility is different in first 10s than on others.
2. Precise flow adjustment allow for very precise calibration tuning without starting process again(start calibration > stop calibration etc). For example - if your pump after first calibration attempt dosed 10.5ml instead of 10ml - using precise flow adjustment you need increase real flow thru the pump.
Our Kore 5th dozer is only one dosing station on market which have minimum liquid resolution 0.01ml. Our competitors have minimum 0.1ml. Why it so important?
Usually single water drop have about 0.04ml. Depending from liquid density - it can change even to 0.06ml.
So having pump with minimum resolution 0.1ml you can't dose 1 drop. You will be able probably dose 2-3 drops - than next 5-6 but without being sure how many drops you have doses.
It's looking completely different on Kore 5th.
So if you calibrate channel on 10ml probe - but you want to dose only 2 drops daily you need to check channel on precise adjustment flow.
If your liquid density is higher - you can set on Check calibration 0.07ml and test channel. If it dose more than should - you can decrease it to 0.06ml
We are releasing in this weekend big software update - calibration process will be easier than actually.

Hi Prezmek,
Your support is always excellent and thanks for a very informative explanation of the logic behind the doser calibration process. However, I am speaking from UX perspective, those complexities should be hidden from users and technically from a programming perspective, it should be able to accomplish that.
Therefore, I am eagerly looking forward to the upcoming release of the new software as well as the new firmware. I looked at the screenshots you provided and haven't seen the new doser calibration UI. Also, is the new software would be posted on this site? http://pacific-sun.eu/shop/dosing-stations/kore-5th-dosing-station/#tab-downloads

Hello
We apologize for small delay - now waiting is over.
Application for Android and compatible firmware are ready to download:
http://pacific-sun.eu/shop/dosing-stations/kore-5th-starter-edition/#tab-android-firmwaresoftware
There is short manual how it should be done - it should take up to 5-10 minutes and can be done wireless(firmware update can be also performed from phone).
@bemofunny
Sorry for late reply.
There is new procedure of calibration - it's very easy.
You need to prepare any flask/glass for water collect.
1. Choose pump number.
2. Click "Start calibration" button.
3. using syringe measure how many ml was added to glass/flask..
4. Put that information to proper place("Measured liquid amount").
5. Click Save button.
Thats all - I think that there is no easier procedure than this one ;-)
The same will be included in newest Mac OS and Windows software.

Well, I finally have to buy an Android tablet to use the new software that is supposed to have a big UX/UI improvement. However, I am running into the following issues and hoping if anyone here has a similar problem:
A few weeks ago, my display stopped showing anything but my ATO was still working so I just didn't bother to figure what happen.
Today I am trying to update the firmware from 1.7a to 1.7.9 version using Mac Firmware Uploader ver.1.8. I kept having CRC error. Follow the instruction, check Rescue mode, doing hard reset, and even turning off the unit and wait for a few min. before turning back on. Still can't update the firmware
Any idea?

It took me few times to try before I finally managed to upgrade firmware version of my Kore 5th. It turned out that main reason for CRC error in my case was laptop going into screen saver mode during update. It probably reduces voltage when in screen saver mode. Android app works like a dream. I only wish it also show you current temperature and had "disconnect" button to safely close connection with Kore 5. It happened once that when I finished programming Kore 5 via Android app, doser worked fine but display showed some chinese characters- same like when you don't click disconnect button in Windows software.

I finally got the latest firmware updated to my Kore 5th. phew!! Thanks to the hint from @intheshadow about the screensaver. Although in my case it's not about the screensaver, but it gave me some idea to solve mine. So here was what I did in case this could help others:
I first removed Kore 5th device from my Mac Bluetooth, then rediscovered and connected
Of course, have my Mac very close to the Kore 5th doser as others had suggested
Then run PSunFlash, Click Settings, make sure choose the right device port then hit Apply. It should tell you if it's connected
Next Click Firmware, Open the latest firmware then click Update. In my case, I also check Rescue mode
Now this is a very important step in my case. Do not touch anything on your computer. I was worried that screensaver would come on even though I changed it to be much longer. So I click on PSunFlash header and that was when I got CRC error every single time.
The new software from Android is much much better than the previous version. Kudo to Pacific-Sun that really listened to customers feedbacks and implemented those enhancements especially the procedure to Calibrating Dosing Pumps is now super easy. The interface is very streamlined now, gone away with some complex settings and annoying notifications everytime you click Set or Read. However, there are few things that didn't make it to this version which is important to my use cases:
I don't see where I can name my pump channels. No big deal but it was there in the previous version which is nice
I am dosing some trace elements and required to be dosed every other day. I don't see that option. Would this be in the next release?
I will test out my AWC this weekend and report back my findings.
Cheers,

We will have some surprising news on Macna ;-)
I can't say too much, you know - competitors have eyes around the head so we need to be very careful .
I feel that it will be very interesting and hot news.
We plan start preorders in Autumn so close after Macna show end .

Actually not, dozer remember lowest and highest temperature, however I know that with nearest big firmware update(for Kore5th and kHLab)there will be chart - for temperature and for alkalinity.

Also, does anyone has AWC version of Kore 5th using DC pumps with the latest firmware and Android app? I got all setup, test DC Pump 1 and DC pump 2. All working. Calibrated the rate. Enabled AWC. But I have been waiting for three hours and AWC is not doing anything. I thought it supposed to automatically doing WC every hour? Anyone know the trick please give me a hint.

Well guys, Thanks to the low or no QA from Pacific Sun that they always shipped alpha or beta software. Woke up this morning with my expensive hardwood floor ruined .
The AWC of their Kore 5th from the latest firmware and Android app apparently only start to kick in after midnight. What a STUPID programming logic.
Then the Pump 1 (outtake) didn't stop running. My son informed me at 8 this morning that there was water leaked and the pump was still running at that time. I put a 7 gallons container to hold the outtake water because I only set 2 gallons per day WC. But of course that won't help if the pump never stop. I believe that the AWC function never work for this Android version. Just like they omitted the Stirrer function for this latest release.
Just beware of using Kore 5th Doser product guys. After three months and so much patience with this company. My expensive doser with AWC, Stirrer, ATO package only have one function working reliably with the latest firmware and Android app is the ATO. Stirrer function is not even there so I couldn't use the doser pumps.

From exchanged emails with your tech support, I believe that QA hasn't tested the latest firmware with AWC using DC Pumps. So definitely a nasty bug.

So I couldn't leave well enough alone. My ATO stopped working so I decided to do a firmware update..... mistake. I now have a blank screen and can not recover. Will probably need to send back to be flashed BUT I have run this doser for ever without issues so want to replace the main unit.
My question is. What is the difference between starter edition and main unit only models
I currently own the pro version that has floats for ATO. Temp gauge. Optical eye for high level alarm. Solenoid for ATO reservoir. What unit do I need to use all that? (I just need the base unit that I can plug what I have into it)

You don't need to send unit to us - simply follow instructions how to update firmware on doser.
You probably used original software(control software) for update to latest firmware and it was wrong - newest firmware is much bigger than previous one and require special update tool published by us on our website.
http://pacific-sun.eu/firmware_update/
Im sure that you will be able to perform update by your self - please let our service know if you will need more advanced troubleshooting.
Kore 5th units are the same in all versions(Ultimate, Pro, Base, Starter) - only difference are included modules/parts.
Starter Edition include only doser and power supply(with CD/antenna).
Base/Main unit include also 10m tubings and tubing holder(5 + 1 for ATO).

Hello
We are glad to inform that there is new, long waited update for Kore 5th working under Mac OS X.
Some Customers reported troubles with data refreshing or problems with precise calibration.
Now application for Mac OS X support latest mechanism for pump calibration included previously in Android/Windows app(which make calibration process extra easy and very precise).
That version of software require latest firmware(available on our website - www.Pacific-Sun.eu ) which make this compatible also with Android devices and latest Windows app.
Link to latest Mac OS X app:
http://www.Pacific-Sun.eu/pliki/Kore5th_1.7a.zip
Update firmware can be performed under Windows/Mac and Android device(yes, you can update firmware on dozer also using your phone ;-)

That firmware is last before huge update firmware which will work also on newest Kore 7th and kHLab(but also with Cube - so iOS app for Kore 5th/7th should be released publicly very soon).

Prezemek,
A little feedback...
I have been using the doser for a while now. If I do not touch anything it has been fine, I am glad there is a new version available... As I did not even want to calibrate since I had found issues. Some pumps calibrate fine, then others you find a glitch in software that did not allow the calibration to be stopped once it started. I have avoided any changes at all costs, rather than calibrate I have been just upping or lowering the dosage to keep my aquarium levels stable. I have even experienced issues when trying to save, sometimes several saves are required before the software actually retains the new value. With that said... once the doser is where you want it, it remains stable and I have only had to change due to consumption rates.
I want to upgrade to the next version, my tank is running smooth and the thought of running into issues frightens me (OK not frighten but concerns me). However, I really want to use the doser in the manner that it was intended. I am currently using a MAC and have contemplated picking up a new Android based tablet due to the issues I had found.
Kore 5th support has been very good when I had issues so I am continuing to use the product as I believe that if ever the software issues can be ironed out it is definitely a nice product. I wish that more testing was done beforehand, some of these issues are not very deep and even basic testing should have uncovered the issues that I have come across.
I am going to upgrade but my plan is to start early in the day ;) If I run into issues at least I will have several hours to address before having to manually dose. (I really hope this does not happen.... arghh. ;)
Downloading tonight...
I hope to provide favorable comments on the upgrades!

Hello
Thank you for your feedback.
Actual, newest version which offer new type of calibration(but not only that) was tested for a long time by closed group of users (in different platforms - Mac, Android, Windows ).
All of that Customers confirmed that if they had any troubles with very precise pumps calibration on previous software/firmware - all that problems gone after latest update.
We improved also stability and overall communication profiles(a specially on Mac/iMac).
We spent a lot of time on firmware/software improvements and I think that we can say that now its working very, very well.
I hope that you will like new calibration procedures but also all other things included in new revision.
If you will need any technical assistance please let us know - we will be happy to help you with anything.

I've been away all week so went to check the KH on my tank today only to find it had dropped massively. Interestingly as some SPS have lost colour this week as well. So I look and notice the dosing containers are massively different, 2 containers empty and two with quite a bit left.
Try to connect to the Kore5th, nothing. So pull it out of the cabinet only to discover a blank LCD!
Tried power cycling it, 'Bootloader ready' shows briefly then the screen clears and stay blank.
So my KH is massively down due to not dosing enough of two parts of the Triton elements, but would seem to have dosed ALL of the other two.
So it looks like the Kore5th is knackered. Great!

Kore 5th like all our other devices have battery backup which keep data in memory for 3-6 months(depending from battery lifetime).
Something like you told can't did by it self - I suggest contact with service and send them memory backup of your dozer, they will be able to tell you much more whats happened.
I don't know which version of firmware you had etc but Kore 5th is really widely used by us on our frag tanks or by many, many other Customers worldwide.
Im sorry to hear about that whats happened - I tried to find your last post on that thread (without success on last pages). Maybe you tried to perform firmware update to latest one in that days? @Pete
It's hard for me to discus about that - I can only use arguments based on our support experience collected within last three years (since Kore 5th are manufactured and 9 years since we started using Bluetooth devices in our products).
I 100% sure that problem is not sourced by bug in firmware/software because if it would be - that issue should be replicated on each other device and very often reported to service.
If you feel that maybe something wrong happened with mainboard/hardware - our support can check it, but again - it's rather issue related to this exact unit not series/whole product at all.
Kore 5th save several informations in his memory(after latest firmware update even reports about power failures, broken connections etc) so our service can diagnose that kind of issues and send detailed report why and whats happened.
Kore 5th is more advanced and complicated product than other dosing stations(like Jebao, ATI or Kamoer) so % possibility that something can be wrong is higher than in device with four buttons and without additional modules / included options.
We are sorry to hear that you noticed that trouble but if you will give us a chance our support will check it carefully and bring your dosing station to live again.
Thank you for your support!

Przemek,
I was sent instructions to restore firmware on my Kore5th but not given any instructions on how to get logs/data from the unit. Anyway after trying countless times with CRC errors I got the Kore5th updated to the latest firmware. So eventually we got there.
I went to test with a manual dose and noticed the motors all running at different noises and speeds. Even with no heads on they all ran very differently. With heads it's also clear. I reset to defaults to see if it was a calibration issue but that hasn't changed anything.
To me it looks like I would need to change all 5 heads and motors ( one motor doesn't turn and the shaft is rusted. ) which is pretty much the price of a new Kore5th. I'm not sure I'd trust calibration to bring these into line. Based on the issues I've seen in the past I'm very reluctant to do that honestly and spend so much money on getting it working again.
Pete
EDIT: Oh but... just to add, since updating to the latest firmware, the connection over bluetooth on my mac is 100% better. It does actually connect every time so far. So well done on sorting that.

If you are getting CRC errors I'm 100% sure that you don't use proper bluetooth (proper - mean strong enough - Class 1 or Class 2). You are using built into laptop module which is Class 4(every saving) and it will work without any CRC errors during dozer programing(sometimes it can send "strange" data - like lost packets on TCP/IP network) but definitely it will generate CRC errors during firmware update where big packets of data have to be transmitted without any errors.
Are you using Mac or Windows for firmware update ? If its Mac - it's iMac?
If yes - cause it using the same Bluetooth module for communication with peripheral devices and mouse/keyboard - until you are not using second bluetooth module - you shouldn't use mouse/keyboard during firmware update because it will break communication with dozer... Yeah, that's very strange but I'm using iMac also and I noticed it several time until I found a source of that CRC errors on iMac.
I see your update about Mac - all Apple computer have good quality Texas Instruments Bluetooth module which have 100mW output power(Class 1). The same about iMacs.
We improved communication protocols on latest firmware so now its working much, much better and I can't find any active issue reports now..
If your motors head rusted it mean that you have too high humidity in dozer environment (not properly ventilated cabinet). We have several units in shops where humidity is really very high and until dozer is not directly splashed by water or not closed in cabinet without ventilation - they are working fine since the beginning.
You can remove plastic heads and simply remove rust from shafts. You can do that using sandpaper. If they rusted on your dozer - it mean that probably all other dozers heads will rust also cause model used by us(pump head and motor) is very popular and used widely.
Regarding the pump speed - be sure that all of them have set the same speed on app.
Im sorry to hear that you noticed some problems in the past - but I can guarantee you that if you are using app and firmware in latest revision and used Bluetooth module is Class 1/Class 2 (very easy to buy on any plac) if your computer doesn't have it built in solve all problems sourced with communication.
All other things like calibration, alarms, dosing , precision - are sorted and I can guarantee you that dozer is very precise and work well.
If you need any additional troubleshooting support please let our service know.
Thank you.

PS. If you are using Windows based app simply generate .mbf file (memory backup file) and send it to our service - they will diagnose it. Generating that kind of file under Mac OS is actually not possible(but we should release new version soon which will have that option included).

I'm using a MacBook Pro so the BT module is not an issue. I also don't use any other BT devices connected to it. This is confirmed now the new firmware is on there and the connection seems rock solid.
On the motors, only one motor is rusted, and it's actually jammed completely so will not turn, so not just a case of sanding the rust from the shaft. It's also the only one that has corroded, the others are perfectly clean so I don't see it being humidity. Also nothing else in the cabinet is an issue.
The other 4 motors all run at different speeds and that is with the same setting in the app. Like I say it seems like the motors are all so far different and this may even explain the issues I had with constantly having to recalibrate as the motors drifted further and further apart. The heads also seem to not all turn the same so putting each head on the same motor it seems to give a different result.
So other than replacing all 5 motors and all 5 heads I can't see how this can be used at all.

Please contact with our service - if your doser is on warranty any faulty parts will be replaced.
What about tunings and rollers ? They wear during the time and like all similar parts sometimes need to be replaced with new one (tunings , rollers - not motor)
How long you use them ?

It will be out of warranty, I think I've had it for 2 years, but not used it most of that time as I had so much trouble getting it set up. It ran for nearly 12 months away from the tank just dosing RO on test trying to get it set up. I thought I'd got it sorted, trust it, and then this.
Honestly I thought it was just software that was the problem and was waiting for one day you to update it so it would work as the HW looks so good. But the Doser itself seems to have given up just as you possibly get that sorted :(

"Are you using Mac or Windows for firmware update ? If its Mac - it's iMac?
If yes - cause it using the same Bluetooth module for communication with peripheral devices and mouse/keyboard - until you are not using second bluetooth module - you shouldn't use mouse/keyboard during firmware update because it will break communication with dozer... Yeah, that's very strange but I'm using iMac also and I noticed it several time until I found a source of that CRC errors on iMac."
Does this mean that the bluetooth keyboard and mouse can not be used on iMAC while updating firmware of doser?
The iMAC came with a bluetooth keyboard and mouse, the only means of communication between user and desktop. I or anyone would not be able to use a desktop for updates if this is the case. (Not buying non bluetooth items)

hello Prez,
I'm Pedro from Portugal,
yes my tank is bigger than that, have around 1000L :)
Do i need the PS ATO to the AWC work?
I'm saying this because i read that when the AWC is working the ATO stop working avoid fresh water enter sump.
But my ATO is from another brand... is a problem?

Good night!
I've had a reply to clean the heads, I'm not sure this will do much to fix the motors running at different speeds.
I'm getting to the point of needing to replace the doser as I'm having to try manually dosing at the moment. It's not looking good if I do as I will have to consider alternatives.

Tomasz sent along a fix for the firmware updater software (Mac version) and the firmware updated as it should. The update went along very easily with the fixed version.
Simply selected new firmware and hit "update".
My hope is that the new "Mac version" of the Kore 5th software works as good as this fix did.

Connection wise over BT the new firmware and software looks pretty good with the latest and greatest versions. It's a shame that didn't get sorted earlier really.

I agree with you completely... I have the new firmware in however I am just going to wait a bit before attempting to use the new software. I want to make sure that nothing has changed before "making changes".
As I said earlier the doser has worked solid (related to dosing) software not so much...
I want to make a change in my techniques by giving ATI essentials a try. However I will need to use more than the two pumps currently using. This new method will rely a bit more on doser accuracy. Easy calibration will be necessary so that all pump doses are equal.
The start date of the new dosing regimen is dependent on my doser.
I anticipated problems, I still have solution from current two part and wanted to see what I was up against. I really believe they have a good product, they just need to be a bit more disciplined in testing before sending out the releases.
In this case it was only the firmware updater. When you are already a bit skeptical and an update does not go as planned it really hurts your confidence in the product.
Any glitch found may only be a code change to fix for them, on the flip side folks have a lot of money in their tanks and even a small glitch can cost the hobbyist years of hard work and money. Early on a mishap may not have been that bad however as my tank matures I am not willing to take chances.
I am glad to hear of your comments on the latest version. It sounds promising ;) I will provide feedback on my experience positive or negative. I really do hope they pull it all together.

Manual dosing... ARGHHH At this point that is something I do not want to have to fall back on. It is nice to limit the Alk swings by the small doses the doser has allowed. and... there is no way my family could keep up on it while I was away.
I hope you were able to straighten this out by checking and possibly modifying the pump speed settings.

No I haven’t been able to calibrate to my liking after cleaning the heads as instructed. Without replacing all the motors and heads I can’t see how I can.
As this isn’t going to be resolved without near enough buying a new one I’m currently thinking if getting a ghl doser 2 and forgetting all about the kore5th.

OK so support got back in touch offering a discount on a new motor and new heads, but without replacing all the new motors and all the heads I don't think I would be able to get a satifactory calibration, and since I've had such issues with it all along it's an expense I'm not willing to risk.
I've already lost more than enough SPS to outweigh the cost of buying a new tank never mind a new doser.
So sadly that's me out of Kore5th ownership. I just can't justify spending so much money on something I don't trust.
I ordered a GHL Doser 2 the other day thinking I'd return it if the Kore5th could be got up and running, but yesterday evening I opened that up being fed up of manually trying to dose and got it set up. I have to say although I needed a windows PC to set up initially, so had to sneek the software onto my work laptop for the evening, set up was a breese.
All is not lost on the Kore5th. I like the PCB inside it and now I know what the Hardware is, and it has what I think from a quick scan is the Mega programming header, I can reuse that myself in a DIY project. Can just stick an Arduino boot loader in that and use it as a BT development board.

Dear Pete,
Im sorry to hear that kind of feedback, but that report about troubles with different speed on each channels is first which we got from Customer after almost few thousand of units sold( I talk about big difference on speed since the factory new unit).
As I understand it wasn't looking like that from the beginning Of course, each motors are different(its normal - they can have different speeds even up to 10% difference) but everything depend from their overall condition(new, used etc).
You bought your unit in May 2015 and please forgive us that we will not replace your pump heads/rollers without any cost. They probably need to be replaced(not motors - but pump head and rollers) and it can't be done by us after almost 2.5 years from purchase date.
We are ready to check your dozer carefully but without sending it to us it's like reading tea leaves..
Calibration procedure is exactly for that what you try to do - mean getting precise dosing on each channel without matter on which speed they are working.
I understands that you expected that maybe we will replace all your motors and pumps heads for free after warranty period - but as my service explained you - pump heads and rollers are that parts which wear in the time.
The same about tubings - they have simply limited lifetime(depending from material used - silicone or Pharmed) it can be 100-200 hours of continuous use up to 1000 hors for Pharmed). During that time flow can change and it's completely normal.
We don't have possibility to check your dozer but it if you experienced problems like you said - to could be a reason(they simply need to be replaced). We can't do that for free, and even that kind of feedback publicly will not change it. I hope that you understand it.
Im sure that you can't go wrong with GHL Doser 2 - it's nice and well built dosing station(many of ideas included originally in Kore 5th were simply copied by GHL ;-) ) but I need to tell you that their rollers and pump heads also wear during the time - and you will need simply replace them after some time.
I regret what you said that you can't trust in Kore 5th - but it still only one dosing station which have dosing resolution 0.01ml(single drop is 0.04-0.06ml depending from liquid density) and GHL Doser 2 will offer you minimum resolution 0.1ml. So you can't dose single drops using GHL doser. Of course - if that kind of precision is not important for you it doesn't matter.
I can also grantee to you that if you will ask GHL for replacing your pump heads/motors/tubings for free after 2.5 years after you will buy it - they will also not agree to do it for free..
Finally - thank you for your time and overall feedback - we hope that maybe in the future we will can work together again.
I wish you only success with your reef tank!
Thank you.
Best regards

OK so first up who said anything about you supplying me anything for free? I've never mentioned this and your post above accusing me of doing such is the first time it has been mentioned at all. My feedback is honest and it is you attacking me by suggesting I am trying to get something for free. To be 100% clear, I have never once asked for you to replace anything for free, in fact I never asked you for a discount, or any help, I have only ever stated my beleif that to be able to get this working again it requires the purchase of new parts, namely motors and heads. It was you who asked me to get in touch with your service dept! We're kind of used to you suggesting the issue is a customer fault now, BT modules are to blame, then all of a sudden MAC BT modules are great and not a problem being the most notable.
The response from your service dept was they offered me a set of heads, and one motor at 50% of retail + shipping. I didn't ask for anything, it was a response to me giving info about what I see as wrong currently. To replace all 5 motors I would have to pay retail for the other 4. This is a significant amount of money all in. Especially since I've never really managed to achieve satisfactory dosing, and indeed I've spoken to you and your service dept several times about this in the two years so you know of the issues I've had.
I had at the time already purchased a GHL Doser 2 and was awaiting delivery, but was doing the tests your support guy was asking me to and giving him the results, nothing more.
Having said that would you like me to persue you through UK consumer law? That states I have 6 years from purchase date to get a satisfactory resolution to any issues, and since you have tried several times to fix the issue with software updates, I am well within my rights to demand a full refund! Have I asked for that? No. So please don't post on here trying to make it look like I'm trying to be dishonest and get you to give me anything for free...
Anyway like I said many times, I think your HW is very nice. Your PCB is really nicely designed and obviously has had a lot of thought into it including where you've placed ground floods etc. Given that it is basically an arduino ( And yes I know you probably aren't coding it in wire, and just using the same MCU ) with a BT module attached though you must agree that your main selling point is the software. This is where you've fallen down for me, and since software is my livelyhood I know how important that is to get right and do properly.
So my feedback here is simply that rather than spend a significant amount of money replacing components and hoping you have fixed all the software issues I've seen ( BT connection is looking good but not had chance to do any other testing. ) and the ones reported on forums, I have decided to move on and use another product that has from my research had better customer feedback publicly.
Oh and on the point of resolution, I'm not sure why you claim a resolution of 0.01ml if you say the smallest drop would be 0.04-0.06ml because surely your resolution is drop size...
Anyway, I'd like to say it's been fun, but well, it's been a rough ride and I'm glad to be off. I'm sure you'll reposond to this, but this post will be the last from me.

Pete
Thank you for your input, please let me explain.
You got offer for spare parts with 50% of discount. Because you wrote about first motor shaft rusted you got offer for one motor and 5pcs pump heads.
If you would decide to replace all motors - you would get 50% discount for all of them...
But again - as I said in previous post replacing motors is not needed(other 4pcs) only that pump heads which wear with the time(they have limited lifetime - longer than tubings - but have..). Simply nylon rollers inside pump heads after so long time can be used too much and that can be a reason why pumps work on different speeds(however as I remember you are the only one who informed us about that so maybe dozer need to be inspected by service)..
About contacting with service - I asked for contact history and they have only two,.\
First - immediate water purchase(May 2015)you sent some mails about firmware update on Mac OS, second thread - now(about that parts etc).
I will tell again - we are not blaming anybody - but you need to agree, that if hardware and softwrae(dozer firmware) is working fine(on Android/Windows platform) and the same have some troubles on Mac OS - it's not sourced by hardware/firmware of dozer.
Even on this thread you can easily read many posts when first version of Yosemite was released many Customers reported troubles after upgrade from Maverick OS. We informed publicly that we know about that because Apple on developer forums confirms several issues with AirDrop and BT connectivity. After few OS updates released by Apple many issues simply gone...
We prepared best as we can app for Mac OS X - and with every new one OS update we were able to include some new protocols in Mac OS app also. That why it's working now much better(I talk about connection issues only - not overall dozer work).
Mac OS environment is simply much more harder to work on some communication protocols - thats why still many "big" manufacturers doesn't have working native versions of app for their products under Mac OS.
For example ATI(for their hybrids - I don't talk about actual wifi which use web server), Giesmann or even GHL. You still need to use Windows based machine to perform firmware update on their doser (cause they don't have prepared Mac OS port for controlling software and suggest Customers using BootCamp or Parallel on their computers to run Windows. I hope that you know about that if you are Mac OS only ....)
Finally about resolution - it's very important with resolution doser/channel have.
If here is minimum 0.1 - you will be probably able to dose 2 drops, than on second dose(if the rest from dispenser will not evaporate) 3 drops etc.
We never informed that smallest resolution is drop size.
As you can see on that movie - dozer can build single drop very precisely - and having resolution 0.01ml is simply very important.
You can clearly see how much of liquid would be dosed if dozer will work with 0.1ml resolution(on movie your can see 0.01ml and 0.04ml )
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5roThPDsM7w
That amount have to be adjusted for exactly liquid - different density will be in coral food, different in bacteria - and liquids like Zeostart or any other Korallen Zucht liquids (or Aquaforest) where you need to dose 1 drop per 100 liter of tank.
But you will see that by yourself.
I hope that you will read that post properly. I really thank you for your feedback, I wish you only satisfaction from other product(GHL Doser) and I'm really don't want to be ironic(but I'm sure that even is something will be wrong with GHL - you will not inform me about that here ;-)
First surprise can be with firmware update but maybe you will not need to perform that.
Im sure that it's very good an nice manufactured station and you can't go wrong with your purchase.
best regards

Kore 5th has been working fine since firmware and software update, software appears to be in better shape. Have not been able to get temperature settings to show up on connection page nor do I see the Celsius or Fahrenheit options as I did in windows version. I use doser only for dosing 2/3 part and avoid making changes unless absolutely required. Changes mainly consist of slight adjustments to dosage. (.5-1.0 ml adjustments when needed)
I have never experienced any unwanted dosing, As long as it stays consistent I am happy. I will be switching hoses and doing some calibration soon, hopefully all will continue working fine.

I am using Android as well to test, very same.
Similar to all other PAC SUN software, unreliable and works once out of ten.
No matter which platform you are running on.

My only complaint is when the screen times out, it disconnects the app. I have to close the app before it will link with bluetooth again. Same can be said when you manually disconnect(pressing the connect button for a few seconds), the app will not reconnect until you close it and start again.
