I have they work great. I will post a video and review on Friday.
I have scheduled times. I have it in wave mode for a few hours a day, then Reef crest, then a lagoon, then night. could not ask for more. You need one unit for each pump something to keep in mind.
I have also put it on my Jabeo dc700 skimmer and have it running at 120%. Seems to be skimming even more than before.
It looks like you can now get these controllers with the RW pumps instead of the RW controller that we have all seen.

Hi REEFCHITOWN,
I have some questions, about the S1, I hope you have the time to answer :lolspin:
The reef chrest mode, is it like Vortech pumps, where it slowly ramps up and down, or like the else mode on the original Jebao controller?
Is it possible to make your own "Programs"? Fx. at night, it will run for 1.5 sec and then 3 sec break - program it like that?
Thank you

Do these controller link up wireless so you can synchronize between two pumps? Can anybody compare these to the JBWave controller?

Yes reef crest mode is possible. it is called else mode on the controller. You can enter as many points as you wish. you can stop 100 % then do pulse.

are you using the apple or android app? I tried downloading the android app and it doesn't work. I emailed them and they sent me the link to the apple app, then told me to look it up. Could not find it looking it up either.

Not to be "that guy" on here, and im far from PC. But I might watch what I say. Some guys on this board are Asian, and though they would probably laugh at that given that its probably all in good fun, you might also come off as hurtful if some people dont know how to take you.
As someone else mentioned, how does this compare to the JB Wave? Was it you that had a JB wave and this?

I have a couple of these on order, but was ordering what would happen if the controllers lost wifi signal? I'm assuming they remain on the last set program, but no changes can be made until wifi is back up?

I have the S1's on both my RW-20's. I originally got them as the RW-20's where to strong for my 8ft 240. I was able to turn them down to 35% and then ramp up to 75% as any higher makes a sand storm.
And I use the android app. I have to reset it once in a while as it will freeze, but works pretty well most the time.

They told me it was being updated and would be available in a day or two.
I know this situation isn't ideal but wondered what your opinions were on my best option for the most comprehensive flow. I am setting up an inline Jeboa 36 watt UV and using a Mag5 pump submersed in my sump. I planned on placing the pump near my sumps return so it got the cleanest water. Where would you run the return from the UV for the best coverage? My options are right by the main sump return, back near the filter socks or I could probably pull off a single return into the main tank? Thanks.

You should start your own thread as this has nothing to do with the aqualink s1, but to answer your question, I would place the mag5 in the return section and pump back into display. JMO

I wonder if they'll work on the new cross flow pumps or at least make a separate aqualink for it.
How is the aqua link different than the JBwave?

I bought 3 of these, and I couldn't get the other 2 pumps connected so I gave up and they been sitting in the box for 2 months. I started up a 2nd tank and I'm attempting to use 2 of them and I'm havingm the same issue. I get pump A connested just fine. I tried to connect pump B and it never shows up as a selectable pump. Any help would be appreciated, I'm about ready to Chuck these out a window

Puckett,
I also got 3, and you are right you cant connect 3, you can do 2 but there's still a few issues with 2. One seems to work better in terms of being able to control it with phone or ipad. However, the pump stops under some settings especially the night setting. I have done a lot of experimenting with one and two running at the same time but dont have time right now to write down all my findings.
Maybe if 2 tanks are far apart that the aqualinks cannot communicate with each other and using 2 different phones maybe they can be controlled?
Right now, I am controlling 2 with my ipad in one tank and for the third pump which goes in a different tank but still in the same room, I put the aqualink away, bought the other controller, the one with the knob, however I have not tried it yet, just got it in the mail yesterday, will see if it works....

I am trying to put just 2 of mine on the same tank running rw4s. Let me walk you through what I did to see if Im doing something wrong.
1. Connect the pump to the controller.
2. Connect the power to the pump.
3. Wait for the green light to come on an flash.
4. Connect the wifi on my phone to the "Aqualink" network
5. Start up the app. If it doesn't show up, then I refresh and I usually see pump A then
6. Program pump A
7. Connect the pump B to controller
8. Connect power to pump b.
9. Wait for green light to flash.
10. Open the app and refresh
But that's where I get stuck, pump B never shows up. I am literally 3 feet from my router and the 2 controllers are right next to each other. One is in my lap and the other is in my hand. See anything wrong?

I just searched Aqualink on the android market and it came up. Granted I downloaded this 2 months ago when I bought the controller. So all I did this time is went to my downloads and found it. I did notice when I opened the app yesterday it said AQlink instead of aqualink so maybe try that.

Yes, the stock controller, the one before aqualink. I just check the update and it says they updated something in German. I dont think that will fix the issues I have with the aqualinks.
I got my jebaos about 2 weeks ago from Dallas Reef Systems. Maybe I should contact coral box too.
I was able to connect to both pumps, I do get the unable to connect or whatever message sometimes but rarely. Maybe try unplugging pump a them connect to pump b then power pump a again.

I got my controllers last week and couldn't get the app to pull up either. For some reason it doesn't show in US Google Play. I even tried a VPN to use the Hong Kong Google Play and that didn't work. I let Fish-Street and Coralbox know about it right away. They said they were going to update it but I still don't see it out there.
Was finally able to get it using this .apk downloader. Use at your own risk. (I found no viruses when I downloaded.)
http://apkappdownloads.com/go.php?id=hk.com.unionsolutions.aqualink
I downloaded on my PC and then sideloaded via an sd card to my Android.
YMMV but good luck!

I got another message from coral box and they want me to go buy 3 more from their store and then when I receive them mail the old ones back. At that point they will issue the refund. Im tired of dealing with these and coral box. It may not even be an issue with them I don't know. I got them because I wanted to hide the controllers in the cabinet but its not even worth it anymore. Im going to sell them. Don't have access to the classifieds yet but I got 3 of these up for sale if anyone is interested ;)

Got two of these hooked up today with RW8s and want to give my initial impressions. First thanks to CyclistMT for providing that link. I used an old phone that's out of service, but still has wifi.
Connecting was straight forward, but I did have to force close the app and reopen becasue it was taking forever to find the 2nd pump. This might not have been a problem if I connected both pumps prior to opening the app. I did one at a time. Once it finds a pump, the pump goes into a default mode of "normal" at 65%
Now came the fun part of actually customizing. Didn't get to make a program yet, but did do some tinkering and testing. I have one pump on reef and the other on pulse at 75%. Pulse is on for 10sec then off for 3sec. Initially I had both pumps go into night made at 11pm - 7am dialed back to 35%. I had thought that 35% was of the pump's full power, but I'm pretty sure it's 35% of the 75% because the flow was very weak. I'm surprised it didn't stall. So I bumped night mode for both to 60%. I was also surprised, pleasantly so, that reef mode was able to go into night mode since on the stock controller "else" is not speed controllable. I'm assuming all modes can go into night.
One thing I don't like about it is that the pumps can't communicate with each other. I would have them alternating for a few seconds for an hour or two mid day. I think the JBwave can do this. I think I can only get true alternating in the minutes range and that's too long for a pump to be off for me(fear of pump seezing or something crawling in)
Overall I'm pretty happy with these and I'm sure I'll be even more so when I program them to my liking. Bonus is that I've been planning on buying a couple RW8s as backups, so I bought the controllers with the pumps for not much more than they cost with stock controllers.
so no one has any comparison to these and the JBwave?
TangingOut

I don't see any reason why someone with one controller would buy the other Bent, unless it's bought for a direct comparison.

I have had both. I think i prefer the jbwave, the s1 has a better interface but I never had an issue using my jbwave. I have had nothing but issues with the s1. Jbwave also has options meaning maybe someone wants the customization but not the wifi, you have that option with the jbwave. Also jbwave has MUCH better customer support.

As a counter-point, while I do not have both, I did ask the designer if the JBWave could do what I was after. That is, one pump steady state for 6 hours, both pumps creating standing waves for 15 minutes, other pump steady state for 6 hours, lather, rinse, repeat. It cannot.
Because the S1 are single controllers per pump that can be scheduled independently but using the same time clock, I can achieve what I want with them. And so far (albeit only a week at this point), I have had no problems other than finding the app which I was able to resolve as noted above. The S1, so far, functions perfectly for MY needs.
I don't doubt the JBWave is a good product and I would have likely gone with it had it suited my needs. Support, I'll give you that. The language barrier associated with any S1 support can be difficult to overcome. The Aqualink app is still not available in the US our Google Play proxy. Coralbox, are you reading this? :)
Margoren
04/20/2016, 01:27 PM
I think the idea is great, but there are still some issues they need to resolved. They should have done more testing and fixing before selling them. All three of my pumps will stop in sleep mode especially when set to a number under 50 percent. What about people who dont know this, they go to bed, the pumps stop during the night, no good. The pumps will work great as long as you avoid night mode.
Also, you can not control 3 pumps at the same time, they do however advertise so. Even sometimes with 2 you get error messages, like cant connect, etc.
The pumps themselves are great, and I'm sure if they ever fix the S1, then it will be an awsome product.
If someone wants one or two I do recommend them, make sure you do trial runs before you walk out on them. DO NOT buy three....

One special note i have found to help the app be more stable is to turn your phone to airplane mode when programing it.

You could do it easy with two units.

I'm a little confused how all this works. Is this a separate controller box that links up with the stock controller boxes? Or is it a replacement controller, and you need one box per pump? I usually use the "else" mode on my RW's. I don't like how it increases and decreases speed in steps. It makes the noise a lot harder to tune out, because the tone of the pump is always sharply changing. Does this allow for smooth ramp up and down? Fish Street advertises quieter operation, I'm wondering if this is how it's able to be quieter.
TangingOut
04/21/2016, 10:06 AM
It is a replacement controller for the stock one. One per pump. I know what you're saying about else mode, but I only notice the noise when close up to the tank. Also, else mode has greater peaks and valleys than the S1's reef mode, which probably accounts for the noise difference. I no longer use the reef mode, because the flow wasn't variable enough.

You need 1 Aqualink S1 per pump. JBWave can do 2 with one unit. Google search aqualink S1 reveiw. It's sure to turn up something. Probably from REEFCHITOWN ;). And JBWave has a web site with plenty of info.
