14 years ago today...i had an emergency, life saving, open heart surgery. and they told me i wasn't going to live very long...but i survived chemo, thousands of tests...and in 2001, they said that i had one good year and one bad year left...and in 2003, when they told me i would die...again...i was pregnant with my little miracle boy, Liam.

As stated...I refuse to be a statistic.

Learned something tonight at rehearsal....I can tell you EXACTLY what makes this come to light for me....

I have the most unique and precious relationships in my theater life. Right now, I am working with a director who has been my friend for 9 years....who is not only magnificent in his direction...but his ability to show me the best in me that I often do not see.

A few years...

Hey gang...Mel tells me we may have our first one on Tuesday...so I'm prepping. About 5 or 6 of us last year had a blast chatting with each other during the storms...while I painted...this is one of the pieces that came from one of those evenings...Thunder Willow. It now belongs to Twin and his wife.

This speaks volumes to how I live my life. Although this is about a young man with AIDS, the ramifications are so similar to my own life. Living with a terminal illness, even in remission, gives you a totally different spin on life.
