Tagging along!

Denadi; can you please tell if your 36inch ATI light illuminates the tank on the sides properly? Or when looking in person is the sides a little dark? I ask because I noticed your tank is 40inches long and the T5 tubes only light up about 34.5inches along the tube at most, so I am wodering if the sides are dark or is it as lit up as the center more or less?

Thanks.

I will :twitch:

Looks nice. Have not read up on the thread for a while. What's in the plans for aquascaping?

The aquascaping is already done :bounce3:

There is plenty of light here, there is no dark in the sides here when you look in person

Any progress?

Thank you for answering my question about the lights earlier.

I have two questions for you.

1. On your kalk float have you always used that? Is it a common trend in your country?

2. On your power heads why those? It seems like everyone has ones they can control for pulses etc.
Do you see much difference between the two as far as flow etc.

Thanks and please keep up the good work. I liked your last tank very much and am sorry we cannot see it mature but I am sure this one will equal that one.

Allmost 11/17/2010 12:36 PM

wow! this is an amazing set up :)

care to name the overflow :P I have never seen that, and I gotta say, its just amazing !
how does it do with wave if you had a wave box in there ? noise wise ?

I guess the opening is so small, that no detritus or fish or algae gets to go in or grow, so wont be needing to clean the magic box down the road. and darkened glass prevents coralline to grow and restrict the flow !!
Im going to contact some tank making companies (miracle) to see if they can build something like this :)
how flood safe would you say it is ?

sorry about the dumb Questions, but this is like a dream coming trough :D

please keep up the progress pics :)

Hello ,

Actually the float is just for top off, but I did a little hole in the pipe to feed the little kalk reactor. This is new here , another guys are copying the idea

About the power heads, I like the nano tunzes, they are cheap and reliable. But when the corals grow here I will add a MP 40.

But I saw a lot good of tanks without wave maker or pump control

Best Regards

Hi Bro,

You can control the noise with a ball valve in the overflow, in the future I will do a little wave with the MP 40

With you want, just for safe, you can add a second little box, if the first one block, the water will fall in the second box.

But you are right, is very difficult to get dirty there

Well, if you donīt have a lot of algae, I think is very safe. I have a friend that are using for 10 years without any flood, but as I said, with you really want to sleep well, add a second box

Best Regards

Ok thanks. So you are saying you have constant flow from your over flow and then your top off water enters the float, mixes and then gets picked up from the overflow water?

Pretty cool idea. No parts and nothing to break. Plus it is small and the chances of an accident are very small.

I did something similar though not as pretty as yours.

One last question on the PHs. Some people say there is little difference between the 2 as far as flows. What is your opinion?

Here is my sump. The first pipe to the left below the pH probe is where the water enter in my sump

The water level in the sump is stable

But when we have water evaporation the level of the sump decrease a little bit and then the float release a little amount of fresh water in the sump

http://img717.imageshack.us/img717/369/sump.jpg

Are you asking about Mp 40 and Nano Tunzes ? I already had one Mp 40 in my last tank, the Mp 40 spread the water better than nano tunzes

Best Regards

KafudaFish 11/18/2010 09:38 AM

Ok I get it now.

I was asking about the 6025 vs. the 6045. I have looked at these for a nano and I remember some people stating that the two were almost the same as far as flows etc. and was just wondering about your thoughts on them.

Thanks.

Denadai 11/18/2010 10:36 AM

The 6045 has a lot of more flow than the 6025

The 6025 is for nano tanks, maybe I will swap the 6025 for another 6045

Best Regards
