Thank you all for following my build thread so far and stay tune for upcoming episodes of ‘Ed Reef’s Shallow Crest Inspired ART’ ….……..!!
“So in this upcoming episode, what will Ed Reef do about his micro bubbles?? How about the canopy top?? Have he ‘conveniently’ forgotten about it?? How about his island he’s been talking about since PAGE ONE?? And fins….are we going to see fins in his little ocean before it splits again?? How about the ancient fossil?? Is one going to be sacrifice to the montie gods?? Will he ever going to complete his project?” May the challenge (oooops I mean journey) continues…. |
Wow I just read through this, exhausting...There are some very nice stuff though. Thanks for the read.

|
Your summary is a great one.
|
congrats on the split and nice summary.
btw "Total Tank turnover estimated at 68 to 78 times l/h including 3 stream, CL and return." wow. that a very high turn over. |
Just throwing a random post in here... I find threads by the little black "you posted here before" dot don'tcha know!
Always like following your threads Ed. |

Thanks arctictwist - makes life easier for me too as from experience (my old thread was split a couple of times) people are always asking for some info which is buried somewhere in the thread and I've to do the courtesy to reply back with a link. This time I just refer them to Page 1 :D |
Quote:
I copied it from another reefer called "NexDog" Best way to do a summary IMO  |
Quote:
Thanks zorden - well if you're intending to keep tables, you will need to crazy random flows...!! :p |
Quote:
Thanks Nick (eventhou I don't quite catch what you mean??) :p |
is the following flow sufficient for my future 4ft x 2.5ft x 2ft tank?
one return Pump: Ocrean Runner 6500, tunze 6045, 6055 & 6100 (2 pcs) controlled by 7095. well going to hide 1 or maybe 2 in the tunze rocks (just like you) If the flow is still insufficient. i guess i will have to add in 1 or 2 units of vortech MP40 |
Quote:
I would try to sell both your 6045 & 6055 and start off the tank with the 2 x 6100 first. And then in future, once the SPS grows up, you can add 1 MP40w or another Stream, whatever is the latest then :p |
The speed of 6055 can be controlled by a singlecontroller or a multicontroller.
srry to hijack your thread. btw your light hood is nice. how i wish i can get those chinese carpenter to do me a cabinet. |
Congrats on the thread split Ed, just wanted to say Hi, and am still tagging along ... my new tank arives in 15 days WooHoo! jr

A really great distress thread for me. Keep up the good work , ed. Sorry it should be fabulous work. |
Yea this thread has provided a bit of stress relief as well as inspiration in my own build...which has slowed to a hault since i went away and came back to work and making up for my vacation!
|
Arctictwist, his cabinet is well done. really love his cabinet. and i guess after seeing ed's tank, i am confused to go for those dosing (light bailing) of zeovit method.
well as for lights. sorry no mh for me. just ten t5 maybe :) yes, i guess i will hide my tunzes inside the rock work well i guess my tunzes is not giving my any issue for the past 3 years so is shouldn't for the next 4 years or so :p |
His stand is one of THE NICEST ive seen. I simply love it. I cant wait to see what the canopy looks like!! Hey to each his, everyone has their own lighting preferences. as well as everything else for that matter. The beauty of this hobby is there are multiple ways to get the same result....your own artistic creation!

How bout that ATS Ed? :D

PROFILUX
OK, last night I clean and calibrate all the probes and reinstalled.
PH Probe 1 – inside sump: http://i260.photobucket.com/albums/i...uxProbes02.jpg Redox,Conductivity and Temperature Probe: http://i260.photobucket.com/albums/i...uxProbes01.jpg The Family: http://i260.photobucket.com/albums/i...uxProbes03.jpg Mmmmm my conductivity show 99.9??? and my Ph shows 10.9 or something like that?? I think something wrong with my Conductivity and Ph probes?? Maybe need replacement probes?? Also somehow my controller doesn’t seem to recognize I have a second probe in my Ca Rx?? Will try to soak it in RO/DI water for 24 hours and recalibrate again to see if it works?? Anyone Profilux users out there with some suggestions?? Temperature and Redox probe is working as normal so that’s good news!! Meanwhile, for those interested, I order those probe holders from SoCal……. Guess you can easily DYI those probe holders but I’m getting lazy as there is just so much more to do and the prices for those holders are quite reasonable IMO 3 Probe holder: http://i260.photobucket.com/albums/i...beHolder02.jpg Single Probe holder: http://i260.photobucket.com/albums/i...beHolder01.jpg My 3 pieces probe holder unfortunately arrived in 2 pieces but Tom – SoCal was great as usual and send me a replacement immediately!! |
