Roger, I sent the pump yesterday. Should arrive next week. Thanks.
Roger,
Did you get the pump? - J |
Yes, I replaced the motor and it will be shipped back today.
Awesome. thanks.
Roger, got the pump and its working great. Thanks. Was the motor blown or something? Was there anything else I could have done to fix it?
No, the motor was bad, nothing you could have done.
Hi Roger,
Is there a thread like this for the 6055's? I have 2 in a tank that has fairly heavy coraline encrustation. they are about 6 months old and I have been planning a cleaning. can you give me any pointers about disassembly or maintenance on these little beauties? LOVE the pumps by the way!!!!!! |
I have not posted such a thread yet but we should. It is pretty well covered in the manual. The basics are the same, just vinegar and a soft brush.
where is the *#@M** manual
rummaging around looking for my manual. Is there a cartridge type of removable magnet on a 6055 or is the motor a stand alone unit?
I did not disassemble it to look before I put it in the tank. |
You can download a manual on tunze.com, it has a standard removable magnet like any powerhead. The shaft however is permanently fixed in the motor and should not be removed.
Thanks Roger Great Service as always
Thank you, now I don't have to divorce the wife because SHE lost the manual for MY pumps
Roger,
I sending my pump 6100.10 + driver to you for service ,as I expect its driver is bad : alarm sets off, I did clean pump, took it apart dip them in vinegar overnight, could not help. Please let me know, it comes from Tustin, CA 92780 |
Is your information in the box? I get too many emails and posts in a day to keep up if the information to conact you is not inside the box.
Yes. it on the box. And my # on the paper(714) 856 9957 and tphuongusa@yahoo.com is updated one.
FYI: It been sent to you about 1 year ago with same issue.
Just wanted to give kudos to Roger for all the help provided when my 9020 went down with a bad motor block. Appreciate all the PMs while I was trying to get this figured out. Thanks to you, should have it up and skimming soon.
Brad |
Thanks, we are sending your parts today.
Roger, How my pump 6100.01 at your shop.? I going to send other one to you, FYI: it washed by vinegar over nite. It runs well for awhile then stop. So give me a signal to send out to you. Thank.
Your pump was repaired and sent back yesterday.
Roger: Many thanks to you.
Roger,
Is it ok to run the my tunze's in a bucket/pail with 4:1 (water:vinegar) mix for a day or so to clean them out? (and off) I would just run them at 30% power and leave them in the pail/bucket) Thanks |
Yes but you do need to also disassemble them to be sure that the upper bearing is clean. Sometimes running them in vinegar alone is not sufficient and you need to actually scrub and pick the calcium off of the parts.
Alright, thanks Rogers.
I have an older 6000 pump which is setting off the alarm, but it has been thoroughly cleaned. As soon as I plug it back in, alarm goes off right away and nothing happens. Obviously not under warranty. Can I send it in to you for repair, and if so what would I be looking at for service costs? Is it worth it to repair?
Thanks, Chris |
Yes send it in, my guess would be something has happened to the motor so you are looking at about $90 worst case. I think it is worth repairing.
