Apex V4.01 Bugs / Glitches

Hello all,

I am not sure if these have been reported yet, or if they are unique to my unit but anyways, anyone seen the following problems with the Apex?

1. I changed the login name and password, then put the display back on the home screen. The login would not work when I tried it on the webpage. I re-entered my information multiple times (in both the browser and the display), so I know it wasn't an entry problem. I gave up and put the old admin / 1234 back into it, and it works fine.

Why wouldn't it accept a new user name password? Are there limitations to this as there are with the email password? Maybe I need to cycle power to the unit?

2. Last night I left my browser window open to the apex while I ate dinner, I came back and tried to update the outlet page I was working on and when I looked over at the display, it looked really weird (crazy PH and temp) and then something clicked and everything shutdown. The display came back on really fast and looked ok again (except that the EB8 power OK count was a 000 now). So I guess I crashed the process in the unit?

3. Last night I also calibrated my PH probe. I had it setting in the 7.00 solution as I was supposed to do. THe number wasnt changing very much, but I like to take my time with calibrations. Several minutes in, the "changing number" had gone from font 10 to font 80! I assumed (the first time) that this indicated that the number was stable and to move on in the process. The word "next" had disappeared from the lower right corner, but I had seen it here before it turned jumbo. I hit that button and the screen was blank. I finally got back to the home screen and the PH was way off! I tried again, this time I made it to the 10.00 solution before I had the numbers go BIG.
One my third try, I rushed through the process and was finally able to finish the calibration..The ph was measureing great!.....BUT now there was this *BEEP* sound every minute or so!!! I had to remove power from the unit to finally get it to stop. Any Ideas on this?

I am accustomed to programming industrial automation equipment, and occasionally, there is a glitch in that kind of stuff as well. But is seems to me that the process and unit hardware is still very much full of glitches and bugs. I know I only listed 3 above, plus the email password limitiation making it 4, but I have really only worked with it for about 5 days!!! Thats almost 1 problem/day!

Anyone else have these problems?
Does Curt read these Forums or should I forward this to him as well?

Thanks all,

Jared

Jared - first, you should be on 4.02. That's the most recent production release. On the password, it's not effective until you restart the unit. A lot of people bump into that one. On your item #2, sounds like the base rebooted. Don't know why, perhaps something you did unintentionally. On your last point about the beeping, I'd look at your warning and alarm sounds. You might have something configured there. You can also look at the status of those outlets, turn them off manually and see if the sound stops.

Alan,

Ill give upgrade to the new firmware...Is it still in Beta? Is there one firmware for the lite vs. Regular?

I checked my sound setup...

If pH > 08.35 Then ON
If pH < 07.75 Then ON

While i was calibrating, It must have triggered it, and I forgot to add Set OFF first. Ya hit that one on the head!

Any ideas on the auto resize text during recalibration?

Thanks,

4.02 is production now. Go to neptune's site, then support, then download. Same for Lite as regular Apex.

Don't know about the resize of text. Remember though that there are 4 screens available on the display and based on what's configured to be displayed, the font will automatically enlarge or shrink. You toggle pages with the left/right arrows. Perhaps you did this while calibrating and actually went to page 2 or 4 which has different font.

Again, complete writeup on configuring the display in the handbook.

Thanks for the help. I didnt press any buttons, it changed all on its own. remember it changed when I was waiting for the calibration number to stablize.

Upgraded to 4.02....messed up my time by 5 hours, but otherwise it went pretty smoothly.

That's the automatic time clock update. You can disable it if you want. If not, set your time zone offset (eastern -5, central -6, etc.) and update the page.
