White spots on palys

I have some white nodule like spots that have developed on the stalk of my palys. Any ideas as to what they are, if they spread, or how to treat? Thanks

that's sand , these botton polyps, protopalys and some palythoas take in sand into their stems for protection.

Button polyps would be an unlikely candidate for a pox infection, 1+ sand. I didn't know they take it in for protection.

Nothing to worry about, they take up sand, sediment and debri to strenghten their stems. It is perfectly normal and nothing to worry about.

It's great that you posted a picture in conjunction with your question. It really helps in solving issues and answering questions. Thanks for posting it.

Thanks for all the input. Sorry I didn't get back sooner. Happy to know the pics helped. It's a real pain trying to figure out if somethings wrong when there's no pics to go by. :o
