Apex aquanotes connection trouble

I'm having trouble with my iPhone aquanotes app connecting when I am anywhere, but home. When I'm at home it connects just fine over wifi, but will not connect on 3G. It will not connect thru wifi anywhere except my house and it has never connected thru my 3G cell service.

Does anybody know what is going on?

Thanks,
Steve

You will need to create a second account that uses the external address or dyndns account. Do you have external access set up, i.e. can you access it using a browser?

Yes I can access it with my browser. I use firefox on my Mac. I have done all the codes for my equipment ion the browser on my computer not the display.

Can you access the Apex from a browser on a computer that is not on your home network, via the Internet?

I just had a buddy test it for me from his house and it does not work from his browser. It seems to be only working from my network in my house.

How do I fix this?

Have you configured port forwarding in your router? If not, you have to do that so that the router will allow the necessary traffic from the Internet to pass through to the Apex.

There is an entire section of the New User Guide devoted to setting up network access. It is stickied at the top of this forum.

Post screen shots of the Apex network setup page, and also of your routers main status page & port forwarding page. If you'd prefer, you can email them to me. I'll PM you with my email addy.

I'm willing to bet Port Forwarding has not been set up correctly. Look up the manufactures instructions for port forwarding. Without Port Forwarding, your router will stop all incoming traffic.

I changed the port forwarding and added the apex to it and still nothing???????

Steps to check:

1: Ensure DynDNS is reporting the correct IP address that your ISP had leased to your modem.

2: Ensure Apex has DHCP OFF! and that you assigned it a STATIC IP Address that isn't being used by any other peripherals in your home.

3. Ensure port forwarding is opening port 25 to x.x.x.x (IP of Apex).

4. Try restarting the Apex.

why? Port 25 is for mail (smtp) servers. Or did you mean port 23 (for telnet)? If so, then the rule should be kept disabled at all times unless Neptune support needs telnet access to assist with a problem.
