bumps on zoanthid tentacles
 

I have 2 different species of Zoanthids and just lately I noticed that each one has 1 or 2 tentacles that are inflamed or have a small lump on them at the base where the tentacle meets the body. I don't remember ever seeing this until after I started target feeding with coral frenzy.

Any idea what that might be?

I don't think Coral Frenzy did it.
You just noticed it because of the target feeding.
Could be many things but nothing to be crazy about.
Water flow, natural deformity, healing after a predation attempt, etc...

Here are some photos of the bumps. Also notice that they are a bit brown. I changed my lights and the middle part seems to be coming back and getting greener. Will it eventually go back to normal?

i have the same issue, why is this happened?

Are those zoas or palys?

I have what looks like the exact same specimin (it's palys though) and every single one has 2 bumps or so. They have been growing fine and it's been that way for months or more.

Nothing really bad. No worries, it's probably in their genes.

I would offer a little more flow and see what happens.

The ones in the picture looks healthy to me.

Those are a Protopalythoa sp.

Like I've said before, I wouldn't worry about it. Just enjoy them and give them a little more water flow.They love to eat a quality coral food, like the Coral Frenzy that a_kraker99 is giving them. Target feeding with pumps off once a week should be enough.

You see how green the center of the zoas are on those pictures? The whole thing used to be that green. I think they are coming back but very SLOWLY.

In your first post you've said that the lumps were noticed only after you have fed Coral Frenzy to the polyps. It is hard to believe that Coral Frenzy would be the reason for those lumps, but I really don't know because I never had those lumps on my Protopalythoas.

Did the color change also after you've fed Coral Frenzy? It should be the opposite. Feeding the polyps would bring colors back! I would continue to target feed them once a week and watch the green to get stronger. Turn off pumps. make sure you have a good skimmer for the system. Maintain a good maintenance schedule including those partial water changes. Please do not overfeed, not worthy. Yes, it's a slow process.

I started feeding coral frenzy to help get color back. I am not sure how they eat but when I target feed them they don't close up all the way like they are grabbing the food. Is that not how they feed?

NO, not at all!! They should close all the way and stay for minutes before they open again.
They are actually fast to close with the food and slow to open.
Please describe how you're doing...
