Acans receding don't know why... Help!

About 5 of 12 acan frags/colonies are having issues... The skin is receding some all over the colony some only on one spot or edge. The exposed skeleton is purple - I don't know why. I have noticed there will be a small spot of purple on the edge of an acan on the skeleton, it seems to irritate the acan then it spreads... A small head is left surrounded by purple skeleton. The purple stuff will not blow or scrape off. I have done a dip with most of them - didn't seem to help. All other sps/lps are doing great- only some of the acans doing this all others are happy and look normal. Please see pics for what im talking about...Any ideas on this? Any help is appreciated!

The pink skeleton is a bacterial infection of some kind. I fought this disease many times with my acans. I usually ended up losing the battles.

Check your magnesium levels and feed them meaty foods.

One thing I tried that seemed to help was dipping them in hydrogen peroxide. It beats the corals up pretty bad but they recover in time. It sucks for sure and I wish I knew more to help.

I stopped keeping acans for this very reason though. I lost a lot of colonies and frags to whatever that pink crap is.

Thanks for the response. Any experience with how it spreads...? I have a bunch that seem fine, should I move all the infested ones to one area of the tank...? Remove completely? Sounds bad and I would love to save what I can...

This afternoon most all are puffed up despite the pink/purple/red bacteria (?) still present just not as visible with the acans covering it up. Here are some shots with the lights on...

So as you can see most all look healthy when lights are on.. It's at night you can see the receding areas and pink/red/purple on the skelaton. Any other thoughts...? One person said bacteria should come off easy as its not calcium based and the color left of the skelaton is on there and not coming off easily. Input appreciated!
