trachyphillia receding

My beautiful trachyphillia is receding where I can see some of the skeleton showing as the soft tissue starts to shrink. I've had it for almost three yrs. Is there anything I can do to salvage it? Can I cut it in half and maybe grow a new one? I've had my soft purple/green hammer coral start to die as well despite good water quality (1.024 sal, 8 dkh alk, 425 CA, 78 degree water in 90 gal) but after I cut off some of the heads, the heads I cut off are doing great. Could there be some sort of infection in the coral which once parts are cut off become free of the effects of the infection?

do you feed it? tissue recession is usually a sign of starvation. i'd dip it in "revive" or some sort of coral dip first before cutting anything. but if the problem is brown jelly disease, i think you'll need to cut it.

Can I save my trachyphillia.

If problem is starvation what should I feed it and can I save it?

See the thread I started in LPS lovers in coral forum. Same general question and many excellent suggestions on how plus what to feed.
