Removing Ricordia
My blue ricordia are starting to get out of hand. I dont know how to remove them. Can I just cut them off the rock or is there things I should do or watch for? Any advice would be appreciated.

I usually chisel the rock. Just chisel under the foot of the ricordea make sure you don't chisel the ricordea's foot but the rock under to foot.

If you cut them off the rock anything you leave behind will grow a new one. You need to remove it all. Depending on the amount it may be better to remove the rock.

They've made their way on to some really nice bigger pieces of my rock. I'd hate to have to take them out.
Its funny I had one head for a few years then one day boom spreading like mad. Lol |
Could be worse it could be discomas

Before you just kill them off, you might want to talk to your LFS about trading them in or contact other reefers locally - My LFS will sometimes take trades for fish credit. You might not get much, but some is way better than none!

If you don't want to take the rock out, use a razor and cut the foot as close to the rock as you can. Almost scraping it off. As said, anything left will regenerate, so if you see anything left and are worried about it growing too fast, put some kalk paste on it to kill it off.

Ricordia around here go for $20-$30 a head at the LFS. Try to save them and trade them in. If not, cut them off and then smear the area with 2-part putty.
