Some type of xanthid crab.

Was it eating it or could it have been an acro crab?

At least three of my acros have resident crabs and they just feed on the mucus.

Is it hairy at all? I also see black tips on the claws which means it could potentially be a predatory crab (gorilla/xanthid/stone).

It could for sure be an acro crab but if you are seeing actual damage I would bet it was that crab. Observing for other crabs/pests would definitely be a good idea as would a dip.

Deff a bad acro eating crab! Get rid of him and for the next few weeks shine a flashlight on your acros at night. I noticed these bastards tend to hitch a ride on the bases og maricultured acros. I'd recommend a good dip and cut those bases off when they come with them.

Any lil crab u get with acros that have fur or black claws are bad for acros!! Only smooth shelled crabs with white tipped claws are good

Hairy or blue eyes is baaaaaad. Otherwise, should be no problem.
