Safe to Add Canopy To Rimless?

Would it be safe to add a regular 13" tall wooden canopy to a rimless tank or would it put too much pressure on that glass? Thanks

Seriously? Nobody?

Yes you can. The force of the weight of the canopy would be transferred down not out. You can calculate how many pounds per inch by weighing the canopy and dividing by linear inches of the tank. You'll find its usually less than a pound per inch. Which is peanuts, literally.

Yes you can and many do.
Just FYI glass will typically break much easier hitting the edge than it will the face, so I wouldn't do anything that would slam or have any metal screws or anything hitting an edge, but a wood canopy on top is generally no big deal.
