Attenuatus Flasher Wrasse - my new FAV wrasse

at least for now :) I just wanted to share a few pics. He recently completed my arduous QT protocol and I put him in my main reef tank. Man, he's such a beauty when he flashes. It took be awhile to shoot a non-blurry pic of him because he likes to zoom around the tank while flashing...anyway, enjoy :)

"arduous QT protocol"... looks to be well worth it--awesome fish!

Beautiful Wayne. I love mine too. They are little spitfires and hold their own well among other larger wrasses.

steelersfan 12/14/2015 11:40 PM

Very nice!!!! They are very beautiful. I added mine as the last fish, but for a little guy, he chases most of the other wrasses around the tank. When he flashes, the colors are fantastic.

slobound 12/14/2015 11:42 PM

WOW, so nice!

Dkuhlmann 12/15/2015 05:45 AM

That is a gorgeous fish! I love the colors of my McCoskers wrasse but yours is mine times 10 in the color dept.

thetedinator 12/15/2015 10:07 AM

Very nice!

Wayne, I have a female in my display and it's nice. But today when I was at wholesale I saw a mediocre looking larger male. It seemed lethargic, but I had seen him last month when I was there, so I knew he was eating atleast.so I took a chance on him.
He is currently in my upstairs smaller QT/bedroom tank with my other pickups (3red hooded females, a katoi male to go with my female, a Rosefascia male, and a vetralis anthia). Believe it or not, the diamond tail is running the show already. He is flashing like crazy and was eating food within and hr of being put in the tank.
Having had earlei's, lineatus, labouti, flames, pintails, lunatus, 8lines....blah blah blah compared to your list, but yes, these guys are extremely gorgeous. I can't wait to get him in my DT and watch the flashing begin in that tank

That's a cool fish!!! I think my daughter wounds love one of them..

Different species; Paracheilinus rubricaudalis. And a prime example at what that species can become, but not what one should expect on an average basis.

jevolk 12/17/2015 05:48 PM

They are definitely awsome looking fish . One might be on my list

m0nkie 12/17/2015 05:58 PM

so nice Wayne! if you ever run out of room, I'll take all your unwanted wrasses

frankyrivera 03/25/2016 05:45 PM

Wow is all I can say. Where did you acquire this fish from. Online private vendor. What

bat21 03/26/2016 04:04 PM

hogfanreefer 03/26/2016 06:20 PM

Wow! $399? The price has gone up. I didn't pay much more than half that for mine.

Deinonych 03/26/2016 06:34 PM

$399 and no guarantee...pass.

frankyrivera 03/26/2016 06:54 PM

$399 and no wysiwyg picture come on

Reefable 03/26/2016 08:11 PM

Wow the fish is insanely a beauty no doubt

friartuuk 03/26/2016 08:43 PM

That fish has to be one of the most beautiful I've seen! Is it bad form to ask how much you paid for him?

d-man 03/26/2016 10:34 PM

Range usually from 200-300. Nyaquatic gets them regularly.

friartuuk 03/28/2016 02:16 PM

Thanks. Way out of my range but that is one gorgeous fish! Hopefully there'll be new breakthroughs in breeding wrasses in the near future!

stef83 03/29/2016 03:41 AM

How much are you looking for one these days?

CoralsAddiction 03/29/2016 09:26 AM

Here's my female. Not as colorful as male but I still love her. She came from DD.
