Eshopps PSK-75 Water Level
 

I bought this skimmer second-hand, put it in my sump, and watched it go nuts.

I gave it a day to break in, and that didn't fix it.

I raised up the skimmer so the water level is now only 9", and it is still filling the cup in minutes, even with the adjustment pipe all the way open.

Does anyone have this skimmer and know how low I have to go to get normal performance? Since Eshopps no longer makes this model, I have not been able to find the 'numbers' online.

how long has the tank been running with out a skimmer it is possible that there is a lot of organics in the water try raising it up until it run with out overflowing

The skimmer and I finally found agreement at about 5".

There also appears to be an issue with the pump, as it 'skips' every second or so.

It's working for now, and since there is nothing in the tank, it shouldn't be skimming much off.

It will work for now, but it's going to need replacement.
