flower pot help
I have had a flower pot coral for 3 months. It had been placed about 18 inches below the water (I have a hex tank 29" deep) and it has looked great. Today I noticed it somehow fell to the bottom. I tried to close all the tentacles to pick up the pot but it is enlaged with water. Does anyone know if it moves on it's own and is trying to find a better spot in the tank. Should I move it back to where it was?

You'll probably want to put that back.

They do not purposely move around on their own. When certain species inflate, they can become almost as lightweight as the water itself and can move very easily. Either it got blown off of the rockwork by the current or knocked off by a crab or fish swimming near it, etc....
I would put it back, but figure out some way to keep it from toppling off again. Use epoxy on the bottom of the skeleton or something. |
ya they dont have the ability to move on their own and you can just put it wherever you want. If you dont want it falling off again you might try attaching it to a rock.
